Tyria is beset on all sides by dangers, and war with this Eparch that Isgarren spoke of feels like it is fast approaching. But I maintain my belief that there will come a time when Tyria will be able to engage productively with those who dwell outside of it, where there will be potential allies instead of certain enemies. Isgarren resists this for now, but that is to be expected; his inability to be easily swayed is why he leads us. Why he must lead us. "One must raise their shield first, and their hand in friendship only afterward," he says, and he is right. I never could argue with him for long. But someday, it will be time to extend our hands instead. And if I am gone when that day comes, I hope the lessons in this tome will be of use to him in my place.
