Over the last few years, I wrote her eight letters trying to explain where I was and why I couldn't come home. Eight letters. I think the seventh one was the best, but it doesn't really matter in the end.

I just keep thinking about what Isgarren always says: that our gift to Tyria is both protecting them from threats and from the knowledge of how much danger they've been in. How much danger she's been in.

I never sent those letters. I think that's probably for the best.
