Acquisition

Primary articles: Caladbolg weapons, Knight of the Thorn

• Caladbolg weapon can only be acquired once per character.

First time acquisition

1. Progress the The Sword Regrown instance of the Knight of the Thorn
2. As the instance host, choose your desired weapon by speaking to the appropriate NPC after defeating Remnant of a Hero.
3. As a party member, you instead receive a Regrown Caladbolg, which contains a choice of Caladbolg weapons.

Additional copy

1. After completing Knight of the Thorn once on a character.
2. Craft a Vision Crystal, Spiritwood Scion, and Orb of Natural Essence.
3. Complete the Heart of Thorns story to receive Broken Caladbolg and replay Knight of the Thorn on a different character.

Form changing

1. After earning the Knight of the Thorn title.
2. Speak to Ridhais in the home instance on the character who completed the story.
3. She will exchange your current ascended weapon for a different Caladbolg form for 1,000  Unbound Magic.

• Similar to Caladbolg, when wielded it has a pale yellow glow and small blue and yellow butterflies flutter around the blade.
• After selecting this item's prefix you cannot change its prefix in the Mystic Forge with an Anthology of Heroes. Instead, you can change its prefix by speaking to Ridhais and paying 1,000  to reset the weapon.
• The name likely refers to the taxonomical family for orchids, Orchidaceae.
