Size Observation[edit]

120px x 120px is the size for most of the icons on this page. Mage Strike is the same size, but the actual image of the skill is surrounded by an larger off-center black frame -- in addition ti the standard frame, Phantasmal Seeking Axe and Sand Shards are 64px x 64ps. I have no idea how to check the .dat file hunt for the standard size versions, but I thought I would bring up the problem. Separ (talk) 13:58, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

I assume you mean 128 not 120. And yes that's normal skill icon size. "Mage Strike" is an example of a reused GW1 icon, hence the smaller size, generally this is more of a placeholder icon and usually not meant to be seen. Lots of monster skills have odd icon choices like this, but there are many 128x128x versions of GW1 icons just like this. "Phantasmal Seeking Axe" is another GW1 icon, it even links to it on the page: Empathy and yes these are direct from the files and API (as you can see again on the file link that it's the 64x file. "Sand Shards" is reusing a trait icon, this is not uncommon and you can see on the File:Phantasmal Seeking Axe.png page that Alex even mentions that's it's just File:Mirrored Axes.png without the edge filter. "I have no idea how to check the .dat file hunt for the standard size versions" I check and upload from dat file, these are correct and you can even see from the API on most of them as well. So not a problem, these are correct. --Dak393 (talk) 14:46, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I bulk downloaded the images from the category page, they are 120x120 there, but the image on the individual pages is 128x128. Is there another way to look at the dat file other than GW2 Browser? Is there an index for the dat file? I was looking to get a particular wav file (the boss in the Weapons Test Fractal shouting, "Aha!") and had no clue how to find it. Also looking for some files to grab for 3D rendering.
