JANTHIR WILDSINTO THE WILDS
Head north to the wilderness of Janthir in the latest Guild Wars 2® expansion! Recent momentous events have left the denizens of Tyria determined to recover and build a new future together. Knowing that cooperation with neighbors will be crucial to their long-term success, your allies dispatch you to befriend the lowland kodan of Janthir—a dangerous land that was once home to the strange mursaat and their White Mantle sycophants in the time of the original Guild Wars®.
The story you uncover on the Isle of Janthir will play out across four major releases, starting with the initial launch of Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds™, and continuing to introduce content in quarterly releases through the first half of 2025. Each quarter of content also includes feature updates, new challenging group content, combat system updates, and more.
HOME SWEET HOMESTEAD
Your journeys will lead you to your own homestead, an account-wide personal housing instance for you to develop as you complete its associated Mastery. Homesteads present you with an area of land and a permanent structure to increase your comfort level through various activities such as harvesting nodes, tending a garden, fishing, swimming, chopping trees, watching cats do cat things, and much more.
Customization is at the heart of the Homesteads feature, so you can decorate the homestead – inside and out! New and existing decorations will be craftable through the new personal scribing crafting discipline. Additionally, your homestead includes a stable for your mounts, bringing them into the space with you. Alt characters will also be making an appearance, adding another personal touch to each homestead.
SPEARS: NEW WEAPON FOR ALL PROFESSIONS
Learn the secrets of the spear from the lowland kodan! Spears, which were previously only used in underwater combat, will now have all-new skills for each profession on land. Some professions wield spears as formidable melee weapons, while others hurl them at range with devastating accuracy. Spears can be used interchangeably in the aquatic and terrestrial weapon slots, but you will need to equip multiple spears to use them in both locations. Any unlocked spear skins in your wardrobe will work for spears equipped on land.

RAIDS AND ENCOUNTERS
Additional challenging encounters will become available alongside new story chapters in the three major releases that follow Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds™ In the first of these releases, around November 2024, you'll get to challenge a new raid comprising three encounters. The story of these encounters will be accessible in two ways: through a classic 10-player raid instance (our eighth raid), or with large groups in open-world events. The Convergences system will also be extended to the region of Janthir, including Janthir-specific enemies. The following major release, coming in the first quarter of 2025, will introduce a challenge mode and legendary challenge mode for the raid. And in our final major release for Guild Wars 2®: Janthir Wilds™, we'll add a new fractal and its accompanying challenge mode.
WILD WARCLAWS
While in Janthir, you’ll have the opportunity to forge a bond with a Warclaw mount and train a new Mastery line that grants your Warclaw new abilities in PvE maps! The Warclaw is a highly mobile mount that can navigate with precision and agility over all kinds of terrain, and also boasts some unique combat and exploration abilities. At the same time, revisited the warclaw's WvW skills to provide a fresh experience that builds on what we've learned about mounts since first implementing the warclaw. the warclaw mount will be automatically unlocked for all players who own Guild Wars 2®: Heart of Thorns™ or Guild Wars 2®: Path of Fire™. To access the mount, simply enter WvW and spend one world ability point in the Warclaw Mastery ability track.
REWARDS
The launch of Guild Wars 2®: Janthir Wild™ and each of its major releases will include a Wizard's Vault seasonal refresh that introduces new objectives and rewards. At launch, players will be able to work toward two new armor and weapon sets as well as several other cosmetic rewards. More cosmetics will be available in the following major releases, including a legendary spear and legendary backpack.
GODSPAWN
"Godspawn" is the first major content release for Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds, expanding the storyline initiated by the Tyrian Alliance and their allies the Lowland Kodan.
This update introduces three new captivating story chapters within the breathtaking landscape of Mount Balrior. As you journey up the mountain, expect to encounter tenacious foes ready to defy you at every turn. Players can engage these battles in a large-scale 50-player Convergence event or our first new raid in five years—a 10-player raid wing—to face these challenges.
While defeating your enemies will be no small feat, crafting the new Legendary Spear will truly make you a legend in Janthir. In Godspawn, players have the opportunity to craft the “Legendary Klowbjarne Spear” – one spear, six cosmetic styles.
After the fight, retreat to the tranquility of your Homestead, now with more decorations and a new mastery to deepen your creativity -and relaxation. Additionally, gain access to new relics, achievements, and a refreshed Wizard’s Vault season with updated rewards and objectives.
REPENTANCE
Following the events of "Godspawn," the Tyrian Alliance is now aware of a looming threat hidden within the mursaat ruins of northern Janthir. In "Repentance," the second of three major updates for Guild Wars 2®: Janthir Wilds™, you will venture even deeper into the Janthir isles to uncover dangers new and old and end them before Tyria can be threatened again.
As part of this journey, you will explore Mistburned Barrens, a brand-new map with three sections, each offering unique challenges and content. Along the way, you will learn more about mursaat history, unlock the new Mursaat Shadowcraft Mastery track, and uncover the true purpose of Mabon's ward.
However, if you're still craving an even greater challenge, this update brings challenge mode and legendary mode to the Mount Balrior raid. For those who thrive in large-scale battles, a new boss—Greer, the Blightbringer—joins the Mount Balrior Convergence, ready to test the strength of you and your allies. Plus, you will see a refresh for the Wizard's Vault with additional decorations for your homestead, new relics, and more.
ABOSOLUTION
The epic finale of Guild Wars 2®: Janthir Wilds™ arrives with "Absolution," featuring three new chapters that will take you into Bava Nisos, the long-abandoned mursaat city left in ruins after the war against the titans.
With new relics to harness and achievements to unlock, plus a refreshed Wizard's Vault filled with new rewards, the journey ahead is packed with riches for the bold. And the adventure doesn't stop there! In "Absolution," you'll gain the ability to craft a legendary backpack to pair perfectly with your legendary Klobjarne Geirr spear as well as unlock new Mastery tiers that will enhance your skills for the journey into the ancient city. Finally, a new fractal complete with a challenge mode and the addition of Ura the Steamshrieker to the Mount Balrior Convergence will push you and your allies to the limits of your coordination.
