So, it is my understanding that if I want to change the background of the wiki to be dark, I have to A) Create an account here at the WIKI. B) Login to my special WIKI account. C) Futz around with alot of settings that I may or maynot be cognizant of. D) Hopefully make it work.

Wikipedia, YouTube, Yahoo, Google, and GUILDJEN ( a site that is there because this site is here) have a switch at the top that says 'DARK MODE'

But here I have to do all that crap. And since my 'history' setting is set to 'sterilize' I would have to do it EVERY TIME.

Don't you think that it is time to maybe catch up to the 21st century? (a constant criticism that I have lobbed at this website only and often) It is a switch. You pay people to do this. DO THIS!

Nobody gets paid here. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:07, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
Since you probably wanted a serious answer, our wiki version is currently MW 1.39. The next planned upgrade is to MW 1.43 (the last wiki upgrade roadmap I saw had this pegged as March 2025 -overdue- so this should be due soon).
1.43 is important since it gives us the option for mw:Skin:Vector/2022#Dark mode, which is the functionality you are familiar with on Wikipedia.
It looks like there is an optional configuration flag for anons (ref) so if we want that, we'll have to raise a request for that to be set, we can raise that in advance now. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:26, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
