Help talk:Appearance
So, it is my understanding that if I want to change the background of the wiki to be dark, I have to A) Create an account here at the WIKI. B) Login to my special WIKI account. C) Futz around with alot of settings that I may or maynot be cognizant of. D) Hopefully make it work.
Wikipedia, YouTube, Yahoo, Google, and GUILDJEN ( a site that is there because this site is here) have a switch at the top that says 'DARK MODE'
But here I have to do all that crap. And since my 'history' setting is set to 'sterilize' I would have to do it EVERY TIME.
Don't you think that it is time to maybe catch up to the 21st century? (a constant criticism that I have lobbed at this website only and often) It is a switch. You pay people to do this. DO THIS!

- Since you probably wanted a serious answer, our wiki version is currently MW 1.39. The next planned upgrade is to MW 1.43 (the last wiki upgrade roadmap I saw had this pegged as March 2025 -overdue- so this should be due soon).
- 1.43 is important since it gives us the option for mw:Skin:Vector/2022#Dark mode, which is the functionality you are familiar with on Wikipedia.
- It looks like there is an optional configuration flag for anons (ref) so if we want that, we'll have to raise a request for that to be set, we can raise that in advance now. -Chieftain Alex
