Push is a structured PvP game mode.

List of push maps[edit]

Mechanics[edit]

Overview[edit]

  • A single capture point starts at the center of the map. When a team controls the point, it moves along a path toward the enemy team's base.
  • Reaching the enemy team's base with the capture point wins the game. If neither team reaches the enemy base within the time limit, the team that got closest wins. An overtime period will begin if the team that is currently losing controls the point when time expires, giving them one last chance to win the game.
  • The capture point will move more quickly when catching up to your team's best push.
  • Jade consoles will periodically activate, allowing players to grant their team increased damage for a duration. A portion of this damage bonus will be granted permanently and will stack each time a console is activated.
  • Outgoing healing, barrier, and boon durations (applied to other allies, but not to yourself) are reduced on the push map.
  • Players receive a burst of speed when leaving the base.

Winning conditions[edit]

Push UI.jpg
  • The goal in the Push PvP mode is to push the point to the enemy team's base.
  • In case of tiebreakers (if neither team reaches the enemy's base in time), the win is awarded to whichever team has pushed the furthest.

Main objective[edit]

  • The central capture point is captured instantly but can be contested by having at least one enemy in the area.
  • Once the central capture point is captured, it'll begin moving in the team's direction toward the enemy base, following a set pattern (based on the map).
  • While the capture point is contested, it'll begin pulsing a stacking debuff called Mortal Contest which increases incoming damage and decreases healing.
  • Flags on the map represent each team's best push. When the timer expires, the team with the farthest push will win.
    • If the point is contested by the losing team when the timer expires, the game will go into overtime until either the point is no longer contested, or the losing team wins.
  • The point moves faster when catching up to your team's best push.

Side objectives[edit]

  • Two side objectives spawn which are similar to the Eternal Coliseum's Sword of Reaping boosts and give a team-wide damage buff.
  • An additional objective called Ethereal Embrace spawns in the center which, upon a successful channel, three skyhammer cannon shots fire on the capture point. These skyhammer shots can be dodged with proper timing, but failing to do so will result in massive damage and a knockdown effect.

Background[edit]

  • The Push PvP mode was first announced on June 04, 2024, by the developers as a way to play PvP more casually, without having to worry about too many objectives on the map. Its purpose is to let players either try PvP in a simpler environment, or to test new builds, with straightforward objectives that revolve around pushing in a lane and fighting as a team on one main objective.

Beta Events[edit]

  • This event used a repurposed map and assets, allowing players to test a very early, unpolished version of the new PvP mode in order to gather feedback on its mechanics and gauge interest from the player base.
  • Based on player feedback, development continued on this mode, and a new map was later developed from scratch with new assets.
  • Two new titles were available:
Beta Event Start Date End Date
Beta 1[1] September 10, 2024 September 17, 2024
Beta 2[2] May 20, 2025 May 27, 2025
Beta 3[3] August 05, 2025 August 12, 2025

Version history[edit]

Patch Changes
September 09, 2025
  • The Push game mode is now permanently enabled in custom arenas and unranked arenas.
  • Adjusted Mortal Contest and global healing reductions to reduce barrier support effectiveness.
  • Changed the locations of secondary objectives and updated their interaction-point art.
  • The visual effects for the center objective have been updated to better fit the setting.
  • Interactable teleports have been added to increase the variety of map pathing.
  • Removal the ramps near player spawn points to avoid pregame griefing.
August 05, 2025
  • Push was available during the beta event.
May 06, 2025
  • Push was available during the beta event.
  • New map and theme for the Push mode.
  • Update to the center secondary objective. During the first beta, this was a channeled objective that would prevent the enemy team from contesting the capture point for a period of time. Starting with Beta 2, when players successfully channel the center objective, three skyhammer cannon shots will fire on the capture point.
  • The last main update for the next beta is a first-version implementation of what will eventually become the official scoreboard UI for the game mode. During the first beta, the map didn’t do a great job of representing who was ahead, especially in close games. The new UI gives players an easy view of the current relative position of the capture point along its path in addition to displaying each team’s best push as a percentage of the path traveled.
September 10, 2024
  • Push was available during the beta event.
  • The beta event for the new Push game mode starts today! The beta map will be active during the miniseason that starts today at noon Pacific Time (UTC-7) and runs until 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time on September 23.
June 04, 2024
  • The new PvP mode was first announced.
