Max limit on nodes[edit]

What source do we have on the 28 node limit per account? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 115.64.225.152 (talkcontribs).

These patch notes (2016-07-28) establish that the daily limit is per-account. The actual number of nodes per day should be easy enough to determine by experiment. --Idris (talk) 17:20, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
I just went through multiple characters (doing 1 first to get all nodes possible on the map), and found that you can get up to 28 nodes per character (if there's that many left in the daily limit for the account), but by logging into alts, you can harvest up to a total of 35 (afterwhich, no alts are having any nodes show up). I assume that the person who said there was the 28 account limit only went through it on 1 character, so it was a bit off, since there seems to be a daily cooldown per node for each character, preventing new ones from spawning, and therefore you are unable to reach the cap on just a single character (ANet's language in the patch notes made this seem somewhat intentional, to keep a tiny bit of the only mechanic of getting more with alts, but very little). I did a round of harvesting with two characters using the Glyph of Bounty on my mining pick, which grants extra strikes on each node (up to 3, in the case of normal mining nodes such as the Bloodstone Crystal Node). I still mined 35 nodes, plus 2 on the 36th node, before the rest of the nodes disappeared. 35 x 3 would be 105 strikes; I was recording numbers of strikes carefully and registered 133 strikes. Got 14 Blood Rubies. Therefore, it seems the limit is on nodes, not strikes, and that the extra strikes effect from Item Booster and Glyph of Bounty is beneficial. --Evilsofa (talk) 08:12, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
I did two rounds of harvesting today on different characters, following the Tekkit's taco path (and diverting to pick up a couple nodes that weren't on that path - no guaranttee I got all the nodes. No glyph of bounty, I was using glyph of crucible (turns the worthless bloodstone dust into low-value mithril, and the mithril from nodes along the way to higher-value platinum). I got 34 rubies from the first run and 8 from the second before the nodes disappeared. So I believe the patch that increased the yield also increased the number of nodes/account/day because I never got more than 1 ruby per node, and the 28 node limit on this page is clearly no longer correct. Luck is a factor here, you can get 0, 1, 2, or 3 crystals from every node (0-1 per hit). Tends to average a bit above 1 per node but it's RNG still. I got 31 from the 28 nodes first map pass through and then another 8 on the remaining nodes. From that second map I got 6 normal nodes and then 3 nodes I only got 2 hits (I think I hit each sub section limit) so it throws numbers off a bit but that's 34 normal nodes + 6 extra hits, maybe it's a bit different, based on hits, or higher than the 35 listed on the page (I mean I got like 36 worth of hits), but that's also pretty close to what's expected. Would want some more testing to confirm if it's like 35/36 or say 108 hits or something.
"the 28 node limit" Note the page does not say there is a limit of 28, it said there was a limit of 35 nodes. The limit might actually be number of hits or more complicated but does seem to be about that 35 mentioned.
"I never got more than 1 ruby per node" I don't think that's correct, you yourself said you got 34 from your first run which should have been 28 nodes, if the second run was about 6-7 more nodes getting 8 puts you above 1 per node there as well.
"the patch that increased the yield" I think you're referring to the March 5, 2019 game update which says "Increased the chance for blood rubies to drop from Bloodstone Crystal nodes so that their drop chance more closely matches that of similar materials." this seems to have just increased the chance to get 1 ruby per hit Seems to be more than 33% now but hard to get exact averages.
I've reworded the notes as well a bit to maybe help with confusion and make that more clear too. I have my numbers saved but would need more data to get more exact on rates and totals. --Dak393 (talk) 06:35, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

Home Instance Node[edit]

On first day it provided 3 rubies. Will update on subsequent days. Separ (talk) 21:13, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

I just received 1 Blood Ruby per whack, totaling 3 Blood Rubies from home harvesting. This matches my recollection of multiple visits. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 23:21, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

The home instance nodes provide 3 rubies per day. The main page should be corrected.174.5.217.110 15:49, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Roj

respawn time?[edit]

Has anyone gotten a sense of how long they take to respawn? In my experience, They are not _just_ a daily reset, there is a delay before they are available again. Seems to be less than 24 hours, but not as little as 12. Maybe 18 hours? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 23:35, 14 September 2016 (UTC)

I think it's a 02:00 UTC reset. 99.63.169.4 02:45, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
Confirmed, not 2:00 UTC. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.220.172.133 (talk) at 15:02, 9 March 2021‎ (UTC).

Feedback 2020/12/26[edit]

Bloodstone Crystal Node should have own special icon on map. (Like Dragon Crystal Node has own icon special icon.) --Cemo (talk) 09:15, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Well even the orrian perals has their own icon in the map yet not in home instance . Some things just are how they are sadly. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 13:30, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Weird result 2024/08/10[edit]

Jusat got a raspberry from one of these, with a volatile magic glyph on the mining tool? Lolwut? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 89.242.246.24 (talk) at 17:43, 10 August 2024‎ (UTC).

Glyph should not matter, which location were you in? Did you take a screenshot of the chat log at least? You're sure you didn't get any other auto loot or node? This seems very unlikely. --Dak393 (talk) 19:27, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
