Anchors

I had something strange this morning while repeating that primary again with one more char (4th time): Although properly catching orbs, and being at range to shoot, the anchors remained untouched. Somehow, it was not working to destroy them. I don't believe that I did something different than the 3 other times. I cannot tell if it was a bug or not. But it made me doubt about something, therefore my question: Is it mandatory to catch the orb and shoot within the same glide (as in no glider closing between catching and shooting)? Or, said differently: After catching an orb, if we close glider, does it cause to lose the orb? A confirmation would be nice. --Tilu (talk) 08:31, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Since it took me like a billion times to do the fancy flyer achievement, I also experimented with glider techniques and I'm pretty sure that once you grab the orb, you're free to stow the glider. —Ventriloquist 15:10, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

I *think* the problem is that the anomaly doesn't float in a straight line - if your angle is wrong, it doesn't hit the anchor. Stupid game design, IMO.--Rejutka 16:55, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

Lost scanner

Scanner ability was inactive. So I tried to swap weapons, and it reactivated the scanner. -- Shena'Fu (talk) 10:00, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

Still Not Fixed 2021 (and 2026)

The second dog constantly regens to 20%-30%. It's broken AF. We got it to work by both dying and retrying from a checkpoint - at this stage, lots of meteors were flying at us and the dog could move again. Svarty (talk) 20:41, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

1/21/2022 - Still Not Fixed.

Killed One Dog. Second dog is consistently regenerating to 20% HP before I can collect 2x Orbs and toss down at them.(LunarRXA (talk) 22:10, 21 January 2022 (UTC)).

Still bugged in May 2026. Second hound refused to die and constantly regenerated from 1% to 20% or more. Retrying from a checkpoint didn't solve the issue. The hound then just laid down at 1% and refused to die. Tried this multiple times to no avail. Tried re-starting the instance from the beginning several times, same problem. Tried killing the hound without my pet, same problem. Very frustrating, especially considering that it took half an hour just to find the entrane to the instance. A waste of almost two hours. Do you mean they aren't down and scannable (same with the machine) after being dropped to 1%? VectorSomething (talk) 06:49, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

Yes, that's correct. I kill the first hound on the ground, then use the special action key to scan the machine, float up, grab the two globes, then use the 1 key to target the corpse of the first hound. The issue is that the second hound doesn't die. Tried scanning the machine and collecting the two orbs anyway to target the (still living) hound, but that doesn't work either. Logged off, waited a few hours and tried again. Still some issues with the hounds getting stuck at 1% but eventually succeeded. The mechanics required for this quest are actually pretty interesting and the map makes good use of verticality (the deep, deep dive into the volcano), but it's a shame it appears to be bugged, and that getting to the instance is such a pain in the butt.
