Talk:Help the cold and hungry dredge

So far I've been able to get credit for this heart by:

• Destroying the big purple crystals using the added ability that shows up when you go near one.
• Catching fish using the tuna bait that can be found on ice floes in the nearby water.
• Picking the correct dialogue line when speaking to Discouraged Dredge Excavators - also found around the nearby water.

Strange heart progress

I have accidentally noticed some strange things: Catching and simply holding the tuna in hands sometimes award 5 or 10% heart progress. Simply holding it, standing afk.

• I think it sometimes triggers when other player nearby successfully baits the tuna (simply baits, no pickup, no deliver).
• But I have also managed to this happen when even no nearby player was around. Neither fishing, destroying shards or killing anything.
  • Note: it took a while, like 1 minute or so + of just standing. But then another few times it was triggered with only few seconds between.

Super strange. I can't pinpoint what is happening... Maybe it's related to some other heart? Someone killing some npcs? Or..?

Just as a hypothesis, since I ran into two other people completing the heart in the fishing area at the same time as me: Both baiting the fish and picking it up to deliver it is not phased per player, there is only one tuna spawning which everyone can pick up. My thought was that the weird 6% heart progress are maybe some sort of pity mechanic so that people who are trying to get tuna to deliver still get some progress even if someone else grabs the fish. --BelleroPhone (talk) 21:46, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
