"Appears to require the ability to craft Krait weapons to drop." I only had leatherworker and jeweler leveled up, around lvl 130 for a whole month. Recently leveled leatherworker in one go to lvl 400, the day I looted this item twice in 30min of WvW. It seems the drop is tied to leveling any profession at a certain lvl, possibly above 375 which is the weapon requirement, but not necessarily weapon-crafting.
