Maybe the drop is guranteed?

I got the item on my first Gerent, from the "Map Meta-Event Completed!" purple chest received once the wall gets destroyed. It could be someone expected the item to drop on the Gerent itself and so reported the item not to be a guaranteed drop, when in fact it is guaranteed but from the purple chest at the end of the timer.
