Feedback 2025/06/03[edit]
- The "Hall of Monuments Portal Stone" is there but it's under the "Show Me Central Tyria" and not under "Show me other locations".
- Yes, I did make a mistake there. I even tried it out back then... Thanks for fixing it. Rochwen2 (talk) 19:49, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- The "Sun's Refuge" from the "Spearmarshall's Plea" doesn't show up. Probably needs the scroll listed instead.
- Probably yes. The other location is still listed in the Wizard's Portal Tome Rochwen2 (talk) 19:49, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- The "Travel to the Mists Vault" is bugged and takes you to the Wizard's tower. I have the device in my inventory and it wasn't added even after visiting LA and the Mists area and talking to that girl as mentioned on the page. Perhaps I need to log out and back in? 199.66.171.90 08:22, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Talking to the girl gives you the Mists Vault Access Key in the first place, this item is then (hopefully) registered by the Teleportation Gizmos Collector Achievement. What you describe seems like multiple problems, or multiple steps to the same problem: First use a Legendary Weapon Starter Key to access the Vault, then talk to Cierle, receive the permanent item, then have that item in your inventory when visiting LA, then check if registered by achievement, then check if available in the tome. Maybe this guide helps you solve it. Rochwen2 (talk) 19:49, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
Feedback 2022/04/09[edit]
The "Icebrood Saga Portal Tome" is missing "Travel to the Eye of the North" —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nekron-99 (talk) at 16:34, 9 April 2022 (UTC).
- That is mentioned below the table. —Kvothe (talk) 18:29, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
- It's not missing in my version of the scroll, did they patch it? 199.66.171.90 08:16, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- The Icebrood Saga Portal Tome comes with this teleport option pre-unlocked. Which is why it's not listed in the table (not a separate scroll) and why the tome itself is part of the Teleportation Gizmos Collector (since there is no scroll the achievement could check for otherwise). It was never bugged, and it's intentionally left out of the table, as mentioned in the note (currently number 6: "This item comes with an Eye of the North portal option by default.") Feedback 2022/09/22[edit]
This article has devolved into a jumbled mess.
First, why does this article keep including an exhaustive section about teleportation devices on it? The german page that links to this article focuses solely on teleportation items, is easy to read, and illustrates what the article is about. This section ought to be given its own article.
Second, I was redirected to this page from a variety of links referring to "Portal Stones," "Portal Scrolls," and other terms. All of these terms coming from the referring articles were mentioned in the description of teleportation devices section. It was easy to understand that they all are about the same thing - teleportation items. Now all these references were removed.
The title of this article, "Map navigation," is confusing to me.
Everything about using a map has already been covered in the Map article.
Why not use a self evident name like "transport" or "travel," as has been suggested?
Two days ago this article had aggregated various forms of transportation methods. It was really cool to have because some of them I had never heard of before visiting this page. Since it appeared that someone was gradually expanding the article, I assume the list wasn't complete. It's sad that all of this beneficial information was completely deleted for an unexplained reason, especially while someone was working on expanding the article. I tried searching for an alternative comprehensive list of transportation methods on this wiki using terms like travel, transport, and transportation, but to no avail.
Last but not least, Drizzle Wood capture points are actually reached by air drop rather than teleportation, and thermal tubes or skritt tunels actually do not act as teleporters since you have to walk to it. Why was it put in the section about teleporting? --77.111.246.40 14:02, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Not once I've heard or read any player referring to it as "transport". Neither as "map navigation", tho. Whatever you decide to call it, it will be likely not used at all, and instead having "map teleport", "teleport scroll" and "teleport tome" redirected to this page would likely be sued more often. Single use scrolls[edit]
Should we include also all the single use scrolls such are Single-Use Mists/Dungeon/Fractal Gate Portal Scrolls that were send during bonus event ? --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 19:49, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
Mounts[edit]
Why aren't mounts mentioned anywhere on this page? :D Ritu Fera (talk) 21:16, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
Rewrite this Page?[edit]
With regards to #Feedback 2022/09/22, #Mounts and the new Template {{Teleportation devices nav}} I think this page seriously needs a rewrite. I'm willing to help, but I don't know where to start and I think some discussion about it would be beneficial.
Issues I see with this page:
- Title is somewhat unclear: what is the intent of this page?
- Is this page intended for in-map or inter-map travel and navigation?
- If these should be separated what names would be fitting for the new pages? I.e. what would your search query look like?
- The Teleportation devices table has one section about Portal devices. These function fundamentally different from the other items in this table, should they still be included in the table of should they be moved to a new section?
Sections that I think should be included for in-map navigation:
- Travel nodes (Waypoints, shrines, etc.)
- Personal Jadebot Waypoint
- Mounts
- Mount rentals
- Portal devices (Watchwork, White Mantel, Prototype Position Rewinder)
Sections that I think should be included for inter-map navigation
- Lounge passes
- Lounge passes navigation {{Lounge passes nav}}
- Portal scrolls
- Portal scroll navigation {{Teleportation devices nav}}
- Asura gates and Reducing Travel Cost
- Gem store items (list would be better than text, wouldn't it?)
