Split collection in sections[edit]
The note about the collection having to be done entirely in order is not completely correct. Rather, this collection has to be completed by topic. For example, the first five items are all about rescuing innocents, and can be handed in in any order. However, before you can hand in item 6, you have to hand in all of the first 5 items. Then you can hand in items 6-8 in any order, under the topic vanquishing an enemy. And so on. So I think the table should have split lines, similar to for example this table.

- Yes, I would like to know what the different categories are too, and this table doesn't show the groups. --175.156.217.21 17:33, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the template that is used in the table judas mentioned doesn't allow 3 table columns. So someone either has to a) modify this template to allow up to 3 columns b) we remove the "Zone"-column and use the "collection table row"-template or c) we need to figure out a different way to separate the different topic related items Almdudler (talk) 22:47, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- I split the pages according to the concepts from IG-6417 page. If something is not right etc tell me. Sime (talk) 23:37, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for grouping the events! It really helps a lot. Also, someone might want to update the last bullet point under #Notes to reflect this. --175.156.217.21 09:09, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, this only works if you only care about the order the recordings have to be handed in; it's inconvenient if you want to sort by location so you can gather all the recordings in one go regardless of hand-in order. I've implemented a solution that ought to please both groups; please let me know if anyone still has issues with it. —Idris

- I just got the Medical Aid Recording, from category three, and am not even done with the first category. The even weirder thing is, that I didn't have a recording device in my inventory. I had one before, double clicked it to see if I get to see some visible confirmation that it is active, nothing happened and I put it in my bank. Relogged through several characters doing something else, returned to the character in question and rezzed a player and got the Medical Aid Recording. --Lucy Luft (talk) 07:16, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/01/13[edit]
Regarding the five categories in order (starting by rescuing, vanquishing, healing, helping, defending, and finally by returning stolen goods)
- are there five or six categories? It sure looks like there are six. Jesself (talk) 16:57, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
How Difficult are these to Complete?[edit]
Always ask for help. A lot of these events seem very hard to solo. So always tag up (mentor or commander) and look for the help of kind people from map chat.
- Main obstacles of note that I found:
- - 2. Hostage Rescue Recording - Long wait time for pre-event, and then the pre-event can be up to 20 minutes. Plus the keys either didn't spawn or were hard to see.
- - 6. Vanquish Wyvern Recording - The event is in a high altitude area. You can use inquest jump pads to help a bit, but the direction is not very obvious. High Skyscale masteries, or maybe Griffon seem pretty necessary. Otherwise, perhaps a TP to friend to a party member already there might work.
- - 7. Vanquish Branded Recording - The Serpent's Ire meta is particularly tricky. I tried this with 10 people, and right as it seemed like we were about to succeed with the first part, we failed. So I'd say you really need at least 20 people, at least unless people know very well how to get everything done.
- Today I did Serpent's Ire with the guild "Auric Oasis" who runs this event regularly on Friday Night's on NA, who seems to be about the only guild online that focuses on Serpent's Ire now. What they said/did seemed to closely correspond to what is described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/7eeyz4/commanders_copypasta_serpents_ire/
- - 10. You can finish this quickly by inviting someone into a party, then going into the start of a fractal and having them type "/gg" to die immediately so you can revive them 10 times.
- - 11. Has very limited start conditions. "This event begins immediately on a new map, and as a reward for completing the Gathering Storms meta-event."
- - 14. The pre-event is a bit far from the start. I think the main event might fail if all the Cavaliers die, and the forged come from 2 sides in a pretty wide area, where the Cavalier are on the edges, so I'd say you probably need like at least 3-4 people to succeed.
- - 20. You'll have to climb A LOT with a springer or Skyscale. This one has some annoying bugs, as mentioned in the wiki, such as one where if Explorer Jappa dies, she goes all the way back to the Awakened Garrison POI. It looks like only one person need to go back to revive her.
- - 12+ The rest of the requirements often have parts where events seem to have some prerequisites to proc that are often not obvious.
- So on the corresponding wiki pages, be sure to read the pre-events / bottom part / discussion tab, in case you're having trouble getting the event to show up. In some cases, the beginning of the event might actually occur in a different spot than where it shows on the wiki, as the wiki seems to usually display where the event ends.
