Are they real?[edit]

I just finished another Gathering Storms meta and did not find a single "Trade Crate". Additionally, in this article both the screenshot and the map refer to Sunken Chests. When do the Trade Crates spawn? Do they only spawn in specific locations? Are they still in the game? It seems weird that there would be two different objects in the game with essentially the same contents and mechanics. --BelleroPhone (talk) 12:11, 7 April 2025 (UTC)

They were 100% real as of the creation of the page. As I said on my talk, I also wondered back then why there are two objects with the same function but different names. Have not been to Sandswept for quite some time but I might check it out agian too. ~Sime 12:59, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
Awesome! Just for consistency, we also talked over at Sime's User talk page, but I'd suggest that collecting observations here is the best way forward. I'll check out Sandswept later, too! Ideally, a Sunken Trade Crate would appear in a known Chest spot *instead* of a Chest, but maybe the Trade Crates are additional objects? Interesting tiny mystery. (added note) I just found one Trade Crate instead of a Chest at the spawn location directly south of the label "The Ruined Path", that is the first mapped location east of the Jetty. Looks the same and drops were also similar. --BelleroPhone (talk) 13:42, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
After another meta, a different Chest was replaced with a Trade Crate, this time the one on the eastern coast, directly west of the Vista. Seems like those can appear in the spots known for the Chests.--BelleroPhone (talk) 17:43, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
