Why is the cooldown of the superior Version different to the cooldowns of the lower versions? --109.47.0.49 10:50, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Balance. 30% chance to gain 10s might on every crit (think AoE) would be little too strong. Could also be an oversight or erroneous research. Mediggo (talk) 12:12, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Cooldown[edit]

The internal cooldown of the Sigil can't be 2 seconds, because I'm always able to have 6 to 8 stacks of Might (tested with flamethrower). So I think a 1 second cooldown would make pretty much sense. --Primordus95 (talk) 15:07, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Why is the stacking a bug?[edit]

There is nothing in the ingame description of the sigil that suggests it would not stack with the same sigil of another tier (*1). So why is this behaviour considered a bug? Because of a point from the 2014-04-15 game update notes? Many things were not realized as promized or announced in update notes. Plus, 2014 is over a whole decade ago. If this behaviour would be seen as a considerable bug by Arenet, wouldn't they have had plenty of time to fix it? Btw. this is not the only sigil where the stacking works. I would like to see the bug description removed from the wiki. Could someone please elaborate on this a bit? Thank you. o/ --Ashreen (talk) 03:05, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

(*1) Compare this to Superior Sigil of Bloodlust. There is a hint in the ingame description that only one stacking (yes, another sort of stacking) sigil can be active.

You can see the Sigil#Sigil interaction section but it also will cite April 15, 2014 Game update: "Sigils of the same name no longer stack together ... a Superior Sigil of Fire will not stack with a Superior, Major, or Minor Sigil of Fire" They specifically removed stacking and it's not supposed to work. That said, it obviously does still work for many sigils (and still not for others) so really it's all kinds of inconsistent. We should likely have better confirmation and details on the pages with which ones do/don't work regardless of if we label it a bug or not. But the original intention is that you don't run two of the same sigil in a set no matter the tier. --Dak393 (talk) 04:03, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for answering <3 !! Actually there is a direct statement in the ingame tooltip, that it does not stack, even in red. I should reassure better before writing. So technically it is still a bug. Thank you again. Aloha & have fun o/ --Ashreen (talk) 14:10, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
Bloodlust and the other attribute-stacking sigils are saying that two different bonuses cannot be active, which is an exception and thus included in the description. Note that the hyphenated meaning is related to attribute, and not to sigil stacking. Anyway, this is a very niche interaction not worth ANet's time to fix, but that doesn't make it intended behavior. If there are other sigils where multiple tiers give effects, it should be added to their pages. --Hazasoul (talk) 10:30, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
