Why is the solution for this a separate article? 108.241.62.17 16:22, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Because that's how we used to do things, and no one's taken the time to merge this puzzle into the new format yet. You can do it, if you want. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 16:33, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Done. Would you mind deleting the old page if necessary, and making sure it's correctly written in? Looks good on my end. 108.241.62.17 16:46, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Way too difficult for solo[edit]

the pirates attack en masse with very rapid fire guns. level 80 getting killed within 6 seconds. impossible.67.161.152.200 17:42, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Not impossible, but I agree it was very difficult when I was caught aware, I was lucky to have had the "Smokescreen when downed" trait and had to rally off each pirate. 212.50.188.36 13:39, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
No, it's pretty much impossible. The "very long time" that the torches are supposed to remain lit is really only about 30 seconds, and when each shot from these machine gun bearing ghosts adds additional stacks of crippled and bleeding, there is no way to run through them to light all the torches and no way to fight them all because they respawn within seconds of being downed. Plus, one of the torches is at the other end of a separate mini jumping puzzle, which cannot be passed if crippled. The walkthrough fails to mention the sharks in the water, which aggro as soon as you submerge. This can't be done without a team of at least four to make sure the torches remain lit at the same time, but any one character standing anywhere is going to be overwhelmed by the pirates and their machine guns. Lighting the torches, fighting a veteran and dealing with the continually respawning pirates would require very specific gearing and builds or a larger party than is possible in the game. And, as is typical of these "puzzles", the end rewards aren't worth the effort and time. 98.231.237.15 14:23, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

Incomplete walkthrough[edit]

Any honest walkthrough should mention the infamous Waterlogged Chest, a red herring that looks like a real treasure chest which draws you in the wrong direction and kills you. Otherwise anyone reading this will think you've forgotten a secondary chest and run right to it, to their unavoidable doom. There is no surviving that spike trap, and if you killed the skales guarding it there is nothing in the cavern to use downed skills on. 73.180.196.185 23:46, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Another shorcut found[edit]

(uses Skyscale) Follow the wall to the west of the Veteran Alpha Wolf and 2 wolves at the entrance to the JP, to the slightly discolored flat patch before the two tallest trees. Walk to the top till the mounts disabled condition is off, or go by the two tallest trees to get the condition off. Mount up, go up onto the ledge by the top of the tree of the two closest to the wall, fly up and head back east until you see the light green tree to the south (right side) on the cliff side, don't go past it as it will trigger the mounts disabled condition. Line up, by looking due south, with the second shorter tree by the light green one. Fly up high as you can, use the bond of vigor, then use the bond of faith to get to the ledge where Phil Thackeray's Magical Moa Feed is. Then, continue on with the JP. (side note: you don't have to use the bond of vigor, bond of faith only works, too. You can press spacebar to coast after you use bond of faith.) I think this shortcut is easier than trying to fly from the hill because the distance is shorter.

I was able to use springer and bond of faith only from the slightly discolored flat patch, too. No need to go up on the ledge.
