Defeat the giant assaulting the Town of Nageling is a level 18 event that occurs in the Town of Nageling.

These are the expected rewards for a level 18 player. Higher level players receive dynamically adjusted rewards.

Walkthrough[edit]

The giant spawns at any of three gates of Nageling (does not spawn at north gate). The giant has a massive amount of health and scales rapidly with player count. His stomp attack hits hard and will kill most players in a couple hits. It isn't hard to dodge, but it has a wide range and he can spam it. He has two ranged attacks. He will throw a rock, which has a slow start up animation and can be avoided with the need to dodge. His second attack will pound the ground three times, sending out a shockwave towards a targeted player. This attack will launch and can hit multiple times, making it lethal against single players if not dodged. He will also shout, inflicting Fear.png Fear and Weakness.png Weakness against nearby players. The giant moves quite slowly, making him easy to range. Melee players will work as long as they avoid the stomp attack, but have a disadvantage of getting feared constantly. Skills that reflect projectiles are good for mitigating his ranged attacks and in return, do high damage to him.

Before the event starts, southern gate (along path to Nageling)
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Follow me, my friends. Help me deliver a message of peace to the charr family. We must bury forever our mutual animosity.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Eventually the fighting must end. Either today, with a declaration of peace; or tomorrow with but one last soldier standing. We choose today.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Stop the fighting and lower your swords. The time has come to recognize and honor the treaty.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: I am on my way now to talk with the Charr. I hope to convince them that our overtures for peace are from the heart.
Before the event starts, north west gate (along path to Nageling)
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Brothers and sisters, follow me. The time has come to bring a peaceful end to our war with the charr.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: We must accept the terms of the treaty and at last bring peace between humans and charr.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Cease your squabbling, my fellows. This is not the way to bring about peace.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Come with me. We must demonstrate that we are united in our desire for a truce with the charr.
Upon reaching Nageling's southern gate
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Sheath your swords and holster your pistols. I am here to discuss truce.
Iron Legion Soldier: Truce, eh? Do yourselves a favor- turn tail-less and run, while you still have the legs to carry you.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Given our history, I understand your reaction. But we come armed only with this token of goodwill.
A crate spawns in front of the gate between the Iron Legion soldiers.
Iron Legion Soldier: You call this a token of good will? A slab of meat wrapped around a cask of whiskey is good will.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: I assure you, this gift is harmless. Please deliver it to your superiors as quickly as possible.
Iron Legion Soldier: I'm too lazy to drag it all the way inside. How about I blow it up instead?
Upon reaching Nageling's north west gate
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Retract your claws, noble felines. We come in peace.
Iron Legion Soldier: Retrace your steps, or you'll leave in pieces.
Iron Legion Soldier: Stop or drop—it's your choice.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: I feel your distrust. That's why we have come with this gesture of good faith.
A crate spawns in front of the gate between the Iron Legion soldiers.
Iron Legion Soldier: Hey! It's all in good faith until someone loses an eye.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: I apologize for the awkward delivery, but please accept this token as a sincere overture for peace.
Iron Legion Soldier: Get your hairless hides from my gate, and take your rickety "token" with you. The only use we have for it is as kindling.
Veteran Separatist Envoy: Please, just take it inside so your brothers and sisters can share in the joy of the end of our conflict.
Iron Legion Soldier: You must think we're as stupid as your kind. This conversation is over.

The delegation runs and a champion giant spawns from the box.

Marri Strongshot: A giant has broken through the gate and is rampaging through the village! Take it down!
Marri Strongshot: We can't have a giant in the city. They act out in tight spaces. Bring it down while there's still something left of Nageling.

Notes[edit]

  • If you travel from the town through the south gate after the box spawns, you will appear inside the box. You may turn around and travel back through the gate or wait until the giant explodes out of the box.
  • Occasionally, Farrin Quickpaw will arrive at west gate north with his caravan after the giant has spawned. If this happens, he will sit tight until the giant is defeated; his party is immune to the giant's attacks.
