Enhancement
Enhancement is an effect granted by using utility consumables and are often used in tandem with nourishments obtained from
food consumables. While food consumables include nearly every food-like consumable in the game, utility consumables include all other sources.
You can have a single enhancement active, unless noted in their description. The effect is replaced if you consume another item providing an enhancement, even if it is the same enhancement effect. Enhancement effects and nourishment effects are separate and can always stack with each other.
For example, you can stack the attribute boosts from an Artisan Maintenance Oil (a
utility) and an Omnomberry Pie (a
food), but using another Artisan Maintenance Oil will reapply the effect and restart the time instead adding time to its duration, and using an Artisan Tuning Crystal (another
utility) after the oil will result in the crystal's boost replacing the oil's.
When an Enhancement effect expires, the character will gain the Diminished effect for 5 minutes. The only purpose of the Diminished effect is to act as a reminder that an Enhancement has ended and has no other effects on the character.

Notes[edit]
- Like booster effects, enhancements last until they expire or are replaced — they persist through defeat and zoning.
- The duration of enhancements counts down only while the character is logged on. If you switch characters, the timer stops.
- The duration of enhancements can be extended with Utility Primer or Flask of Utility Primer.
- Some enhancements, like the Branded-Slaying Enhancement or Pumpkin's Blessing, have a different status icon, but otherwise function like other enhancements.
Trivia[edit]
- Originally, utility buffs ended after zoning, defeat, or logout. They were changed in an update to behave more like food.
- Originally, Enhancements were also called Nourishments, but they were renamed to make it more clear they are different effects.
