Tortured spirits and other, worse things have been emerging from portals nearby, making it so we can't safely conduct our research. Maybe you could take care of it.

Tell me about the tortured spirits.

They're haunted by spectral forces that drive them to madness. If you can force the demonic tormentors to reveal themselves, defeating them may allow the spirits to rest.

Heroes once visited the temple to travel to Underworld, which weakened the barrier. Now portals between the two worlds can form. The portals, and the creatures from them, must be fought physically.

This is Godslost Swamp. We're not far from the ruin of the Temple of the Ages. It's the oldest remaining monument to the Six Gods that we know of. Some say it may be as old as Tyria itself.
