Hello. If you would like a refresher in defiance, step into the ring with the training mech here. For a lesson in combo fields, go talk to Instructor Bureku at the next ring.

What's defiance?

Defiance is a way of talking about your opponent's defenses. When the bar under an opponent's health is gray, they are immune to control effects. When it turns blue, use control effects on them.

Control effects?

You'll want to hit the mech with things like pull, knockback, knockdown, stun, or daze. You can also use conditions like immobilize, slow, blind, or cripple, to name a few.

What does depleting the bar do?

This is tricky to answer as it varies foe to foe. But it can do things like stun them, interrupt their attacks, or make them more susceptible to damage.
