First villager

They told me I was to be honored, that the Eye of Zanthir[sic] chose me for a reason. Then they wrapped me in webbing, and the spiders...the screams of the other "Chosen"...I know they're coming for me next.

Calm down. No one is trying to hurt you.

They are! You don't understand. The White Mantle pretend to be the protectors of Kryta, but they're involved with something terrible...terrible!

That's all in the past! It's over. Hey, you can't even hear me, can you?

Why isn't anyone coming to help me? Mother, father, where are you?

I hope that someday you will find peace.

Second villager

I was just hunting in the jungle, getting food for my family, when I was confronted by the White Mantle. They asked me about the Henge of Denravi, and other things I didn't understand.

Go on.

They wouldn't believe that I didn't know. They insisted I was lying. So without even blinking, they killed me and just kept marching. Now I'll never go home. My family will surely starve to death.

I know this is all in the past but I'm sorry. I hope you find rest one day.

I don't have time to waste talking to deaf, dead ears.

Third Villager

My son...the White Mantle took my son away from me. Said he was one of the Chosen. I've wandered Silverwood searching for him. Have you seen my son?

What is a "Chosen"?

The White Mantle tell us the Chosen are selected by the Eye of Janthir and are highly honored. But once chosen, none are ever seen again. I need my boy to help with harvests. Perhaps they will understand.

There are no White Mantle here anymore. I cannot help you.

I will keep searching. I told my husband I would only look for him until I'd worn through the soles of my shoes. Look, they are still as if new. I can keep going a bit longer.
