- The icon greatly resembles a Venus flytrap.
- "Mawdrey II" is a portmanteau of "Mordremoth", the elder dragon, and "Audrey II", a blood-eating plant from the film Little Shop of Horrors
- Mawdrey II is female. This is indicated by the message "She is too full to eat any more today." when trying to feed her excess Bloodstone Dust.
