Always found whales fascinating, even back on the mainland. Smart, beautiful creatures. Yet they keep beaching themselves here on the strand, despite all their smarts.
Those of us who care about them (and there's quite a few; turns out lots of people love whales!) have figured out a way to get them back in the water...sometimes, anyhow. We do our best!
Asked Pete if he had any ideas, but he just brought it back to talking about wavehawks, like always. Said something about how the wavehawks have managed to adapt to the magic here and use it to their advantage and whatnot (not writing it all down here, he goes on and on). The magic appears to maybe mess with the whales' ability to navigate.
At the very least, we can keep trying to shove them back into the water. No beached—whale explosions on my watch!
