Silken Weir (lore)
Silken Weir was the mate of Stoic Alder and mother of Poised Arrow. She joined efforts in the north to halt the Elder Dragon Jormag some time during the Icebrood War, resulting in her death.[1][2] A poem was dedicated to her memory at the Maul Boneyards.
Some light about Silken Weir's past is shed in Kinfall Fractal through ambient dialogue. Although the exact time and place of the events portrayed in the fractal are unknown, it is likely they took place somewhere in Far Shiverpeaks in an ancient ruin similar to the Whispering Depths during the time of Silken Weir's venture north to confront the rising threat of Jormag. If the contents of this fractal are correct (as Dessa stated, the fractal appeared to be incomplete or half—remembered), right before its events, Silken Weir became separated from her party. As her attempts to reconnect with her kin failed, she presumably met her untimely end there. The direct cause of her death, as well as the aftermath, are not certain. It is not clarified whether she was slain during a fight against overwhelming forces of the icebrood, gave in to Jormag's manipulation and became their minion, or something else. During the ambient dialogue, the antagonist of the fractal claimed that Silken Weir surrendered her Life-Fire - warm protective magic - and found her peace with them (the dragon and their minions). Yet, due to Jormag's proficiency in deception and persuasion, it is possible that the statement was not accurate. It is also worth noting that Jormag then tried to use the memory of Silken Weir in an attempt to manipulate the party of bearkin that came after her.

- Story journal: Initially, I was surprised by the rundown state in which he'd kept his property. However, the reason soon became painfully clear. It once served as the Claw's family home but was left to fall into disrepair after the passing of Silken Weir, Alder's mate and Poky's mother. Weir joined efforts in the north to halt Jormag's rising, tragically resulting in the loss of her life.
