Feedback 2025/06/19[edit]
I'd like to know the mechanics of changing the guilds that define which alliance we are in. For example, I am currently in a guild "A", and I wish to move to a different guild B, for the next match-up when alliances are redefined. But I don't know when I can leave my A guild, without being dropped out of my current alliance. Or whether I need to drop out of another (non WVW) guild in order to join guild B while still playing in the A alliance. Or is there a limited time when I can drop out of A and join B without losing any ability to play in my chosen alliance. --Vana Runedottir (talk) 16:06, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
- Most of the information you'll want is in World Restructuring since technically, Anet hasn't decided Alliances are actually out. (Which is confusing and irritating.) But to answer your questions: When you select another guild (Guild B) and hit "set as WvW guild", it will not remove you instantly from matchups with Guild A. Instead, the next time mass alliance match-ups are rolled, you will then be placed with Guild B. Each round lasts about 4 weeks before populations are rerolled. The Team Creation dates are on the GW2 Forum, but I'm posting them here for ease of access:
- February 7
- March 7
- April 4
- May 2
- June 6
- July 4
- August 1
- September 5
- October 3
- November 7
- December 5
- The next matchup shuffle/Team Creation deadline is July 4th. I would have your account set to your new WvW guild (with the "Set as WvW" button pressed while having that guild selected!) a couple days before July 4th, just to be safe. I'd also take a screenshot and save it. Make sure the little castle icon with the clock is set next to the correct guild. Please note, you do not need to leave another guild in order to set a different one as your WvW guild. You just need to mark the other as your WvW guild.--Rain Spell (talk) 17:05, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
