Purpose

what is the purpose of this that existing references already don't cover? --ItVictor (talk) 13:08, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Template:Quotation presumably being the existing one; this one doesn't use positional parameters making it easier to use with some arguments being optional, doesn't have a uniform way of covering the title or date/access date (the latter being important for dynamic content), and authorship is very limited there.

Basically this template helps make templates uniform, and is largely compatible with the references used/generated by the Wikipedia visual editor reference generator.
