Moving info from Notes[edit]

Heya, I wanted to write this earlier but was busy with other things. I want to commend you for moving, on various pages, important information from Notes to the main body of the page (or other apppropriate sections). I absolutely agree that the usage of Notes is often over the top on many pages and crucial info should not be hidden in them. I sometimes attempt to do this as well when I encounter some stuff, but there are so many pages <.<. Good work! ~Sime 22:17, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

Thank you, I'm glad we are aligned on that! I really like how you and pretty much all very active editors have a strong common sense approach for the wiki. And, to be honest, I feel rather strongly about tackling sections of random facts, be it Notes or Trivia. Wikipedia has won the battle against Trivia sections a long time ago, and I would be happy to see the same here, even if its not that critical for a game wiki.
I mean, pretty much every single random fact can be put into a normal section, and possibly should be. For example, historical changes into "History", easter eggs and pop culture nods into "Cultural references", etc. But I guess we are not quite there yet, so at least we can clean up Notes for now.--Genie (talk) 10:11, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

Quickness & "activation speed"[edit]

I have noticed some inconsistencies in the Quickness page. Currently the state of the page says "Quickness is a boon that speeds up the activation time of skills and actions by 50%.", then below it says "Increasing the casting speed by 50% means an actual reduction of casting times of just 33%."

I investigated the trail of edits and this second line comes from your October 2023 revision here. At that time, the summary stated that quickness increased activation time, which would mean that the skill was slower. The boon summary no longer reflects this in the most recent revision, as quoted above. This however means that the follow-up line is saying a 50% faster rate means a 33% faster rate, which is clearly incorrect. I'd expect you formed the 33% number as the inverse of a 50% increase is a 33% decrease, but the number should be a skill activations are reduced by 50% resulting in a 100% increase in the number of animations. No?

Figured to DM you first, in case I was missing something, as you seem to be a long-term contributor and have left lasting changes. Kindly, GoldenDragonRider (talk) 08:49, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

Not Genie but I'll refer you to the quickness talk page where the most recent section asks the same question. --ItVictor (talk) 09:20, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
Yeah, this is unfortunately the question for whoever wrote that part in the Notes section originally. I did only a cursory check when I moved it into Mechanics, so can't comment on these numbers' validity. Genie (talk) 23:13, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
