Vigil Recruits have the lowest rank in the Vigil, assigned to new members of the order. Many minor races such as the hylek are Vigil recruits, and they are mostly confined to Vigil HQ during their training. However, they may be assigned to guard duty around camps, doing odd jobs such as tending to the cattle and to support missions anywhere in Tyria.

Trivia

• Asura and male sylvari Vigil Recruits can only be found in The Silverwastes starting with Living World Season 2.
• During Living World Season 2, they used core appearances, with their weapons changed from Vigil's Honor weapons to Pact Fleet weapons.
• With the release of Heart of Thorns, they no longer used core appearances and instead adopted generic Vigil models based on existing crusader, marksman, and tactician appearances.
• In Living World Season 4: All or Nothing, they continued to use the Heart of Thorns appearances, but their weapons were updated to Dragonsblood weapons.
