Being in Maguuma, I... I feel sick just looking at it. Smelling it. Even if it's not...what happened. I'm not in the mood to write today.

Mabon came with me to the fractal today. I can't be here alone. It brings up...so many bad memories. Of my friends, but also the...blood. I feel sick.

Apparently they don't know what the purpose of this fractal was. Waiting Sorrow made it before she fled the court. Dagda doesn't know, even though she was Waiting Sorrow's apprentice.

I'm just glad I can see the fractal of Kaineng right on the horizon. A reminder that this isn't the real thing...

Maybe...this is an ideal version of Maguuma. One without Mordremoth. One that Eir didn't die in. One that...I didn't die in. The old me, at least.

I'm still here though. I'm still breathing, even if I'm not the same person. But, the more that I think about it...maybe it's for the best. I was so angry back then... It feels weird so[sic] say that I'm better now. I'm not, but I'm getting there.

A light in the darkness, I have the best possible distraction: the Kryptis. I don't have time to mourn. We can only act, and well... It's not good. Dagda's struggling, Isgarren seems...off. Mabon's about ready to do something severe. Maybe we'll see each other again soon. I don't know if I'm ready.

Notes

Lore discrepancy:

Although the second journal entry says it isn't known why Waiting Sorrow created this fractal, both Maguuma Fractal Research and Callista mention that the Primal Maguuma Fractal was created to study the effects of overflowing magic on the wildlife over a long period of time, and that it was created "merely decades" ago, while Waiting Sorrow left the Wizard's Court centuries ago.
