Agony Lens
Agony Lenses are cosmetic infusions that give +5
Power and +9
Agony Resistance and provide unique color effects in a combination with the Legendary gloves Eikasia, Mists-Grasper.
Infusions[edit]
There are 14 different versions, seven for each side, six of which dye the effect displayed by Eikasia, Mists-Grasper, while one hides that effect completely.
Acquisition[edit]
After completion of Incursive Investigation: Working Together achievement, all infusions are available for purchase from the Mist Stranger in the Fractal Incursion Conference for 10
, 30 Globs of Ectoplasm and 1 Fractalline Spark.
Mechanics[edit]
- The infusions can be slotted in any armor, weapons or trinkets, as long as they have an infusion slot.
- Slotting the infusion into any armor pieces or trinkets applies the indicated effect to all equipped weapons.
- Slotting the infusion into a certain weapon applies the indicated effect only to that particular weapon. It means that once you swap to the other weapon set, the weapons will have the default effect that comes with the gloves, as long as no other Agony Lens infusions are equipped.
- If no infusion is slotted in either of equipment pieces, the default magenta effect will be shown for both gloves/hands and weapons.
- The infusions will take effect as long as the Eikasia, Mists-Grasper skin is applied. It means that even if you apply the skin to any other rarity gloves, the default and infusion effects will still appear.
- In case of applying the legendary skin to any other rarity gloves that are lower than ascended, you have to equip the infusion on a different armor, weapon, or trinket piece with an available infusion slot for it to take effect.
- The effect is still shown even if the visibility of the gloves is toggled off in the equipment panel.
- The infusion effects do work and appear in all the game modes, except in Structured PvP, where only the default magenta takes effect.
- The infusion effects do work and appear while wearing an outfit, using a combat tonic, and with the majority of the bundles, including engineering kits and elementalist conjures.
- Affects mesmer's clones and phantasms.
- Current testing shows that the infusion effects also work with certain shrouds. For example, while in Reaper's Shroud, the infusion effects will appear, since this shroud still gives access to the scythe. Meanwhile, the Harbinger Shroud or Shadow Shroud will not carry the infusion effects, since these shrouds use the character's hands to cast the skills instead of actual weapons.
- The infusion and default effects appear on the gloves or hands/wrists, and weapons, where the effect placement might change depending on the weapon type.
- When wielding one-handed weapons, infusions affect both the draw/stow animation and the glow on the weapon.
- When wielding two-handed weapons, the left-side infusions affect only the draw/stow animation; meanwhile, the right-side infusions affect both the draw/stow animation and the glow on the weapon.
- Using two different color infusions will make the draw/stow weapon animation distinctly display both equipped colors.
- Using Vanishing Agony Lens (Left) or Vanishing Agony Lens (Right) removes all the corresponding effects and glows.
- Preliminary testing suggests that if two Agony Lenses for the same side but of different colors are equipped, the active color is chosen depending on the shop order in the vendor's inventory.
- It means that the infusion effects do not merge, but rather overwrite each other. For example, using an Amber Agony Lens (Right) along with Azure Agony Lens (Right) will make the Azure Agony Lens effect an active one. Removing the Azure Agony Lens will make Amber an active one instead.
- It's reported that the order might also be: Vanishing > Azure > Crimson > Viridian > Amber > Rose > Aureate > Default Magenta[1]
- The infusions cannot be placed in the mystic forge and they are not marked as crafting components. It means that currently these infusions cannot be stat changed and they are only available with the bonus for power.
