Engineering Kit. Equip a kit that replaces your weapon with bomb skills.

— In-game description

Bomb Kit replaces the engineer's standard weapon skills with five different skills. Each bomb explodes shortly after being placed at the feet of the engineer.

1	Bomb	0.5½		Set an explosive that damages nearby foes.
2	Fire Bomb	0.5½	8	Set an explosive that burns nearby foes.
3	Galvanic Bomb	0.5½	16	Set an explosive that electrocutes nearby foes, dazing them.
4	Magnetic Bomb	0.5½	20	Set a timed charge that pulls nearby foes.
5	Big Ol' Bomb	0.5½	20	Set a timed charge with a big blast that knocks down nearby foes. This skill blast finishes twice.

•  Short Fuse — Gain fury when you hit a foe with an Explosion.

Traits that affect all explosives

•  Steel-Packed Powder — Explosions cause vulnerability.
•  Shrapnel — Explosions have a chance to cripple and cause bleeding on hit.

•  Blast Zone — Create a blast finisher at your location when you use a healing skill's associated tool belt skill.

Patch	Changes
June 24, 2025	Magnet Bomb has been added to the game, replaced the Smoke Bomb slot. Smoke Bomb is now instant. It has been moved to the toolbelt slot and is replaced by Magnet Bomb. Big Ol' Bomb has been moved from the toolbelt slot, replaced the Glue Bomb slot. Glue Bomb has been removed from the game.
August 28, 2018	Smoke Bomb: This skill now counts as an explosion when used with related traits. Glue Bomb: This skill now counts as an explosion when used with related traits.
August 08, 2017	Path of Fire pre-patch: Weapon Kits and Device Kits are now referred to as Engineering kits to reflect that their classifications are functionally the same.
June 23, 2015	Specialization update: All kit backpacks were removed and replaced with a weapon that your character holds to distinguish the kit you are currently using.
December 14, 2012	Engineer kits now inherit the bonuses from currently equipped weapon sigils.
November 15, 2012	Bomb Kit / Med Kit / Tool Kit / Elixir Gun: These skills can now be equipped in the air. All kits can be stowed in the air now.
September 14, 2012	Disabled the "stowing" auto-attack to prevent players from getting stuck holding these kits: Bomb Kit, Elixir Gun, Flamethrower, Grenade Kit, Med Kit, and Tool Kit.
August 28, 2012	Game release: Bomb Kit has been added to the game.
