Challenge Motes are small interactive objects in a form of will-o'-wisps, which, when interacted with, allow the player to activate and acquire challenge achievements during Living World story instances, the Fractals of the Mists dungeon, Convergences, and raids.
In Living World instances, players can interact with a Challenge Mote to retry the event for achievements. In raids, fractals, and Convergences, Challenge Motes are used to activate a higher difficulty Challenge Mode or Legendary Mode version of an event or instance.
