These are the expected rewards for a level 80 player.

Pick up supply crates and run them to the cannons.
Interact to start a slow animation to repair. Interrupting the animation will cause the loss of the repair object. This object can be carried while mounted.
Once a cannon has been fully repaired, it will no longer need to be defended.
