Legendary Whispering Shadow is the final foe in the Kinfall Fractal. It is a Voice of Jormag through whom Jormag, the Elder Dragon of Ice and Persuasion, can speak from a great distance.

Combat abilities

Effects

•  Empowered - Outgoing direct damage increased by 5%. Stacks in intensity.
•  Inevitable Darkness - The whispering shadow has consumed life-fire from a player. Each effect consumed will be returned to a nearby player once Whispering Shadow's defiance has been broken.

Skills

• Falling Ice — A small piece of debris has fallen from the ceiling of the cave.
• Frozen Teeth — The whispering shadow creates multiple fissures in the ground that erupt with razor-sharp blades of ice. As health drops, more fissures are created.
  • Lofted Cryoflash — Upon completing Frozen Teeth, the whispering shadow releases an icy explosion that severely damages and chills all enemies in the air.
  • Terrestrial Cryoflash — Upon completing Frozen Teeth, the whispering shadow releases an icy explosion that severely damages and chills all enemies near the ground.
• Freezing Fan — The whispering shadow flash-freezes a large swath of terrain in front of itself, damaging everything in the area.
• Freezing Vortex — The whispering shadow summons multiple freezing vortices that spiral outward. As they move, they create vitreous spikes in their wake.
  • Vitreous Spike — A large spike of ice erupts from the ground, launching targets into the air.
    • This can be used to avoid Terrestrial Cryoflash, but it may knock targets into aerial hazards.
• Gorefrost — Piercing spears of ice damage all enemies in their path. Targets damaged by Gorefrost may be interrupted, dazed, or stunned depending on the fractal tier. All icicles fire at the same target in an inward-facing circular sequence that tracks the target. As health drops, more projectiles are fired.
• Guttering Light — The whispering shadow becomes vulnerable to defiance damage and repeatedly targets enemies who carry life-fire. While channeling, Guttering Light damages all enemies in the life-fire's radius. Upon completion, life-fire is removed from the target and the whispering shadow gains a stack of Inevitable Darkness. 
  • If no players have life-fire, the whispering shadow instead uses Glacial Midnight.
• Glacial Midnight — The whispering shadow assails all enemies with waves of supernatural cold and darkness. Each pulse of damage also grants it one stack of Empowered.
  • If the whispering shadow has 5 or more stacks of Empowered, all enemies are chilled and blinded.
  • If the whisperinng shadow has 10 stacks of Empowered, all enemies are also afflicted with vulnerability.
