Gardesano's account as transcribed by Amanuensis Nofra
I have made a breakthrough with my newest pupils. Some of my fellow docents at the primary conservatoire had their misgivings, among those outside these halls, but what good is the experience of a proper education without space to pursue one's fancies, one's passions? The mursaat we admit to study in Stellis Quor should come to know Tyria as we do, its power, its beauty, and its dangers, within reason. But I digress. Last week's lessons were something of a personal interest to me.
In recent days, both Elka and Antenor have taken a growing interest in my stewards, and so I offered to instruct them in the delicate craft of shaping and enchanting their own arcano-constructs. Even with these rudimentary lessons and my limited facilities in the city, Elka was able to follow my methods to the letter as if she were my very shadow. And she produced an impressive first attempt, a near-perfect simulacrum of one of my own stewards with some noticeable differences in flair.
Antenor... Well, he took a direct approach. He asked if he could supply his own materials and returned the following day with several large violet jadestones; an inspired choice, I thought. Jade has shown potential in the use of arcane constructs, but for reasons I've yet to discern, it's a material that takes greater arcane input to reach a functional baseline than other materials I've experimented with, and I tend to lean toward efficiency. But he was diligent, insouciant; it took Antenor much longer than Elka to finish his first construct, but it paid off. The small thing was even able to hover with the best of us.
I still smile when I think about their work, the potential their newfound crafts could hold for them and their people. It will be the honor of a lifetime to watch and see what becomes of their studies and their contributions to the mursaat. Such is the near unique pride of a teacher. I[sic]
