Shaman Palak is a hylek from the Ba'Chok tribe who was an inhabitant of Lion's Arch prior to the city’s destruction by Scarlet Briar in 1327 AE. He survived the assault and took refuge at a Vigil camp in Gendarran Fields. After Lion's Arch was rebuilt, Palak disappeared, taking upon the personal quest to seek magic in the name of Zintl. He recruited acolytes and sent them across Central Tyria to keep Zintl's flame bright in the different hylek tribes' souls.
Palak accompanied the Tyrian Alliance's expedition to Castora as a stowaway aboard The Dark Leviathan in 1338 AE and continued his search for magic on Shipwreck Strand northeast of Hullgarden Village Plaza, overlooking the sea. Inspired by the sunlight and warmth of Castora, he set his sights on forging an enchanted ring, Endless Summer, with the Pact Commander's help to share Zintl's warmth across Tyria.

Dialogue[edit]
- In Lion's Arch (before Escape from Lion's Arch) and Memory of Old Lion's Arch
- I greet you warmly, <character race>. May the Sun shine on your back to create delightful shadows on the path before you. I am Pakal of the Ba'Chok tribe. We call Lion's Arch home.
- Isn't it unusual for a hylek tribe to settle within a city?
- Lion's Arch is unlike any other city. Here, the Ba'Chok can live in peace. All races are friends and allies, without hostility. No swamp or land of any type can offer us the security of this place.
- I'm glad you found a happy home.
- And warm greetings to you as well.
- In Hullgarden Village Plaza
- May Zintl warm your bones, bless your path, and gift you endless summers.
- A Hylek in Castora? I don't think I've seen you around Hullgarden before...
- I'm from Lion's Arch. We've likely crossed paths before. When I heard of your voyage, I snuck myself aboard your ship. I search for magic in the name of Zintl. The sun hits these shores like no other.
- This place is definitely something else. Is it magic you seek?
- In part. My people crafted a powerful ring long, long ago—a ring that radiates Zintl's light. I want to craft it and share his warmth with Tyria. The recipe has been passed down from shaman to shaman.
- Sounds like quite the ring. As a craftsman myself, I'd love to help.
- I accept your help! While I study the magic of this island, perhaps you could recover eight Shards of Zintl for me. They are relics of my people and are said to carry his magic. They will power the ring.
- Where can I find these shards?
- All but two of them have been entrusted to the chieftains of the hylek tribes.
- And the other two?
- One is guarded by Tequatl the Sunless himself. The other is hidden deep within Wychmire Swamp, in Caledon Forest.
- All right... And how do I go about getting the ones held by the chieftains?
- Seek out my acolytes first. I've sent them across the mainland to keep Zintl's flame bright in the tribes' souls. Sadly, their reverence has grown weaker. Our people's attention has turned to other matters.
- I'll see what I can do. Where can I find your acolytes?
- You'll voyage to Sparkfly Fen, Mount Maelstrom, Bloodtide Coast, Kessex Hills, and Timberline Falls. You may tell them that Shaman Palak has sent you to collect their Shard of Zintl.
- Where in Sparkfly Fen?
- Our great temple, in the Astrozintli Forelands. The shaman there can help you.
- Where else?
- Thank you, Palak! I'll see what I can do.
- Where in Mount Maelstrom?
- There are two shards in Mount Maelstrom, so I sent my most devoted acolyte to try and recover them. He should be in Whitland Flats.
- Where else?
- Thank you, Palak! I'll see what I can do.
- Where in Bloodtide Coast?
- Search Jelako Cliffrise.
- Where else?
- Thank you, Palak! I'll see what I can do.
- Where in Kessex Hills?
- Last I heard, he was somewhere near Viathan's Arm...
- Where else?
- Thank you, Palak! I'll see what I can do.
- Where in Timberline Falls?
- There is a tribe of my people in the Hunting Banks.
- Where else?
- Thank you, Palak! I'll see what I can do.
- This is helpful, thanks. I'll track down your shards.
- Thank you!
- After unlocking the achievement
Radiance of the Sun God - May Zintl warm your bones, bless your path, and gift you endless summers.
- I'll see what I can do. Where can I find your acolytes? (the same as above)
- (If only the last step of the achievement remains)
- Shaman Palak! I have returned with the Shards of Zintl for you.
- Ah, our endless summer strengthens! I'm honestly relieved they weren't lost to time... Oh! And while you were gone, I've made great progress in my study of this place. Castora is magnificent.
- Do you have everything you need now?
- I think I do! Now, you'll need to collect some additional materials if you'd like me to help you craft the ring. But I can get you started after all the work you did for me. I'm happy to share the recipe. (completes the achievement)
- Thank you, Palak. I'd love to craft one for myself.
- Please, it's my pleasure to share Zintl's light. Let me know if you'd like to take a look at the rest of the items needed. Otherwise, feel free to return anytime! I think I'll stay here awhile.
- I'll take a look now, sure.
- I'll be back later.
- Thank you!
- After completing the achievement
- May Zintl warm your bones, bless your path, and gift you endless summers.
- I've come to browse your wares!
- Thank you!
