Power
Daredevil with Pistols has a very simple-to-learn rotation that uses only 4 skills and is lots of fun to play in open world and instanced content. Through
Unload, the Initiative bar is always full, so you can spam
Head Shot for a lot of Defiance bar damage. Through its frequent Dodges, it can evade a lot of incoming damage. Paired with the range from Pistols and multiple healing on damage traits, it becomes a strong open world choice. As a plus, your damage will go up significantly when you are provided with external
Quickness,
Alacrity and It also uses mostly the same gear as Power Pistol
Deadeye, allowing you to swap between them (one for damage, one for
Quickness).

Thieves are – together with Revenants – the only profession in the game with a resource bar that determines how often you can use skills. On this profession, skills have different Initiative costs, but no internal cooldown. You regenerate 1 Initiative per second, but there are other ways to increase the inflow. Since skills have no internal cooldown, this often means that the skill that does the most damage per cast and initiative spent is repeated (like
Unload on this build), making most rotations on Thief relatively simple to understand.

Notes
|
| General Stuff |
Careful:This build scales with the number of conditions on the enemy. For guidance on setting up the training area, see my guide for it.'
- Make Sure to set your Auto Attack to
Unload by Crtl+ Right-clicking on it.
- Always maintain
Bound.

| Opener |
|
| General Rotation |
- The general rotation concept evolves maintaining the 15% damage buff from
Bound by Dodging every 4-5 Seconds.
- Make sure to dodge into your enemy to make it hit them.
- After Dodging, press
Unload once to make sure that your character does not keep facing away from the enemy doing nothing
- In between Dodges, you can do the following two combos:
- 3x
Unload
-
Unload, Fist Flurry, Palm Strike into another Unload.
- That is it. Repeat this until whatever you are shooting at is dead.

Gear & Traits[edit]
Important Stats (descending in Importance):
- ~63% Critical Chance in the Hero Panel -
Fury,
Keen Observer and
Twin Fangs provide the remaining 37 %.
-
Signet of Agility will make you overcap by a good amount, but still provides ~3% Critical chance and makes a great emergency dodge button (and area condi cleanse!). We will exploit this later in the OW build.

- For a budget variant, simply replace all armor pieces of Berserker's with rare/exotic Berserker's.
- Ascended gear is always ideal, but exotic gear is fine for everything aside from higher-tier fractals.

Increasing Survivability[edit]
- For OW, it can make sense to make a build more forgiving, so that you can sustain on your own. As a starting point, I typically go into the Special Forces Training Area with the following setup:
- No self-boons
- No pre-applied conditions on the golem
- 1 million health Golem (anything else is tedious)
- Activate the moderately threatening damage area.
- Change gear and traits to the following, as much as you can afford:

Trickery facilitates Boon coverage and Initiative management significantly. With the gear and trait loadout of choice, you will maintain full 25
Might,
Fury and
Quickness on yourself, as well as 60%+
Vigor.
- With only partial
Vigor coverage, you might have to use
Channeled Vigor and/or
Signet of Agility to restore Endurance.
Signet of Agility doesn't have a cast time, so you can sue this for two emergency dodges.
Escapist's Fortitude heals you and cleanses a condition off whenever you evade and attack, which is... often in this build.
- Your Dodges are your most important way to recover health. You heal on evading attacks and you heal when you hit an enemy with it through the damage to healing conversion sources.
- Spam
Unload for self-
Might and damage. When you hit with all bullets, it restores Initiative. That way, you can spam it indefinitely.
- Beware of enemies that reflect projectiles, they will make you kill yourself very quickly if you're not careful!
- For strong passive self-healing, you have several options:
Relic of the Thief and
Invigorating Precision.
Relic of Zakiros and
No Quarter.
- For even more survivability, you can use both
Relic of Zakiros and
Invigorating Precision.
- Use the survivability food and utility item listed above for -10% damage taken and 150 Toughness!
Note that using
Deadly Arts has a higher damage ceiling than
Trickery when you are provided with conditions on the enemy. You can consider switching between the trait loadout for group dps and open world as needed via build templates!
