Dead Lab NPC[edit]

Hi, nice work on all the images you've been uploading! Nice to have them on the wiki. And thanks a ton for those Gem Store history updates, good to have those documented. I'm curious where you found the Mistburned Iboga in Dead Lab, by the way; I don't doubt that you found one there, I'm just curious what obvious spot I missed lol. Sunlion (talk) 12:13, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Hello, thank you so much! As per Dead Lab, I found one Iboga south of the Sanguine Crater Waypoint, really close to the border with Moldering Greenwood zone. But now since you asked, I went to that spot to check again, and this time I found Mistburned Warclaw instead, and it's only one over there, just like the Iboga was. I'm not sure if this is the case, but maybe Mistburned mobs over there appear randomly, and are not subjected to one type? Vysnaite 15:23, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
Very possible that they're random, I think I saw a Mistburned Warclaw and Mistburned Reindeer when I looked at that spot? I didn't include them because they seemed like they were on the other side of the area border File:Dead Lab map.jpg shows; didn't stick around long enough to check if they walked over onto the Dead Lab side of it, probably should have waited since it looked like they could cross it. Sunlion (talk) 15:58, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
The ones I came across were in the red area I marked here - https://imgur.com/a/mQxtpsr. I tried to stay for a few and kill the Mistburned Warclaw, then the Mistburned Reindeer spawned too, just as you mentioned. After several tries, I also came across a Mistburned Timber Wolf. As I noticed, they can spawn on either side or cross over the border. Not sure then, if it's better to remove them from Dead Lab's page, or maybe list the possible types of Mistburned mobs and then make a note section where it could be mentioned that it's not subjected to spawn only one particular type? Vysnaite 16:17, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
Leave it on Dead Lab's page I'd say; they can be in both without player interference, so I think they can stay. A list of what Mistburned can spawn there and a note explaining that spawns there vary sounds good. Sunlion (talk) 16:28, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
Alright, I edited Dead Lab page and added the notes section. Thank you for your insight! Vysnaite 17:11, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Decoration infobox[edit]

Hi, please remember to check the ingame/API-listed binding of a decoration before changing the infobox; Scarecrow (decoration) and Ram Statue are account bound on acquire, whereas the bound parameter being set to acquire lists the item as soulbound on acquire. Also, the requires parameter should always go at the bottom of the infobox as per Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Decoration formatting. Sunlion (talk) 11:26, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Hello, to update decorations' infoboxes I use the example that was provided in the project itself, to be exact - I was using Lion Statue. I made sure to check the API of the given example, and technically its parameters state that it's "AccountBound" and "AccountBindOnUse", exactly as your provided examples. From there I was quite of sure that it was correct, which is why I always used it as a reference. As for the requires parameter, I know that it should go at the bottom, but the current decorations I'm working on is from the Decoration/Guild hall/Festivals category, which technically Festivals on its own is a free to play content, so as for my understanding it doesn't have any. Vysnaite 11:47, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
Sorry about the requires thing, think I got one of Tery3065's edits mixed up with yours since same subject matter. Your understanding is correct, sorry for getting confused. Fixed the Lion Statue issue, apologies if I was snappy there. Sunlion (talk) 12:43, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
It happens, I'm glad we have this issue resolved. Vysnaite 11:18, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

Removal of decoration ids[edit]

Hey there! First of all, thank you for updating all those decoration infoboxes <3

For some of the guild decorations you removed the item id stating that it is incorrect. Why do you think this is the case? Because while they might not be whitelisted in the items API, they are listed as the output id in the recipes API. For example, Reaching Twisted Tree's id returns no results here (items/101084) but is included in here (recipes/14040). Asuaka (talk) 17:41, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

I want to thank you for your work as well! And I think the removal is an honest mistake, as the ids as you said Asu do not show up in the normal API, so for someone who does not know where to look they would appear just as errors. We should probably add a hidden comment to these that the id's been taken from elsewhere. ~Sime 17:48, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
Hello, first of all - thank you both for the kind words. As for the ID removal - I'm still pretty new to the API "reading" and browsing, so when the API shows a response of "invalid input", just like ~Sime said, I would think that the ID itself is incorrect, or was changed to a different one for the certain "items" and wasn't updated in the wiki page. I did check the API articles itself, and it just mentions that there could be errors while searching/browsing, but nothing related to the possibility of items not being whitelisted. That's why I removed them from some of the decorations' pages. Also, so far I still haven't worked with any recipes and their API, so I didn't know that it's also a good way to check or search for the ID's in such cases. Thanks for pointing it out, I will fix my mistake and make sure to edit the pages I removed IDs from, as well as use this method for future editing/updating. Vysnaite 11:29, 3 October 2024 (UTC) ; Asuaka thanks for already editing and fixing those :) Vysnaite 11:47, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
No worries, glad we could clear that up! Thanks again for all your work :) Asuaka (talk) 13:11, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

Reverts[edit]

Regarding your recent reverts relating to edits adding | collection = to item pages: where are you getting that things have to be exclusive to a collection to be put there from? I could very well just be forgetting something obvious that's stated in a formatting page somewhere, mind you. The documentation in {{Default item parameter}} states "If the item is part of any collections, separated by ";"." for that parameter, implying that it's for any collection an item is part of, even if it's not exclusive to it. I can't remember any discussions on this topic, so if it was something that was decided during my hiatus would you mind linking it? If it's in the discord, I can probably find it myself, but I'd like to see if you have a link to where this was decided or where it's stated before trawling through over a year's worth of search results. Sunlion (talk) 11:02, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

Oh, to clarify my tone: I'm just genuinely curious here after noticing it in Recent changes and would like to keep this in mind for my own edits if it's policy. Sunlion (talk) 11:26, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi, Item formatting page doesn't state anything about | collection = in general, but it seems I have missed it in the {{Default item parameter}} page that you linked, my bad on this part. There was no discussion on Discord or other platforms, I just came to such a conclusion myself. A lot of "gifts", or other commonly used items (not all of them) that primary purpose is being a part of legendary crafting, already had such parameter being used, which IMO makes sense. But other items, such as Refined Homestead Metal, Dragonite Ingot, etc., are used for multiple purposes, thus, having it in the infobox for a reader might be looking quite misleading, since it can be taken as "that's the primary use and only this collection contains the item" (even if the page has multiple tables listed below, not everyone is willing to go through all of that information). Thus, most of the pages I reverted didn't have such parameter in general, even before that, so it seemed like I was doing the right thing. From my POV, it looks logical to use the parameter on the pages that are either exclusive to the collection, or something like "gifts", where the primary purpose is legendary crafting (as quite a few pages already were listing multiple collections) as I stated before, but it looks kinda weird on the item pages that have multiple purposes. Of course, I also might be wrong, as it is just the way I see things. My bad if it was my mistake, can revert my changes if needed :) Vysnaite (talk) 11:46, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Not really a mistake, just a slight misunderstanding. IMO | collection = is still good to have on pages for items that aren't collection-exclusive, since said items are still part of those collections and they don't show up in {{Collection nav}} otherwise. It could probably help people figure out what items can be used for without having to scroll through lengthy Used in sections, too, for example. The parameter collapses if there's too much stuff in there, so bloating the infobox doesn't need to be a concern. Obsidian Shard shows this in action. Listing collections an item is part of helps with verifying where its | hint = text comes from, though that's not really useful to anyone but us editors. Infobox documentation is pretty useful for stuff like this generally, thanks to our technical editors being so thorough, so I advise looking at that when possible. Sunlion (talk) 12:00, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
I see, thanks for the info. Sorry, if my edits were not "on point". Will keep this in mind for the future editing. Vysnaite (talk) 12:07, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Don't be discouraged by the way, you've been doing great work over the past few weeks! This is a super small thing really, and it's overshadowed by all the amazing contributions you've been making lately. Definitely didn't want to edit all those new item stub pages, so I'm very grateful you chose to handle it. Sunlion (talk) 12:14, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it! ^^ And it's fine, I'm glad that I can learn from my mistakes or get to know new kinds of info that could be useful for future editing. There are still tons of things that I will need to wrap my head around, so hopefully, it's only for the better ^^ Vysnaite (talk) 12:25, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

Thank you![edit]

Just wanted to say thank you for adding all of those NPCs coordinates. I'm also impressed with the guild hall decorations. Are you going up high into your homestead or guild hall and placing them in the air? Curious to know how you're doing it! - Doodleplex 16:22, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello and thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it! ≽^•⩊•^≼
As for the images of the decorations, you basically answered it yourself! I do take them in the homestead. Usually, I turn on the bee mode and then fly into the sky up north of the map, just to get that beautiful and neutral background that it provides. Then I place the wanted decoration on the land, or inside the water (because for whatever reason sometimes it doesn't allow me to place them on the land), and then using the moving tool and X, Y, and Z arrows, I move it up into the sky, resize, rotate to face the light and modify it to fit my liking. Since they made this new decorating system and now we can easily scale, rotate, etc., it also doesn't require to have them next to the stairs, walls, or other objects that could show the "true" size of the decoration itself (as it seems that's how it was handled before on the wiki), which I find to be kind of a relieve, since now the images can be clean and focused only on the decorations itself! I assume the same thing can be done in the guild halls too, since now the decorating system is shared between HS and GH, but I haven't tried it there ^^ Vysnaite (talk) 11:17, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

Skill history pages[edit]

Just an fyi that you're adding the wrong skill fact/descriptions to history pages for the balance patch changes, it should be the current version of the skill/trait so it listed at the top (so it matches the change above), see my edits on Illusionary Defense/history. --ItVictor (talk) 13:50, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Fixed my edits, thanks for the heads-up ฅ𓂃𓏧♡ vyѕɴɑιтε ᨐᵉᵒʷฅ (тɑʟκ) 14:31, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
(thread hijacking in progress)
feel free to ignore the subpages by the way, its very easy to bot those after the main skill/trait pages are updated. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:38, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
Well, I just thought of editing them in one go along with the main pages, since subpages don't take that much time, as it's mostly just a copy-paste. But will keep it in mind, hopefully that won't affect the bots/scripts for the rest of them then :D ฅ𓂃𓏧♡ vyѕɴɑιтε ᨐᵉᵒʷฅ (тɑʟκ) 20:01, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
Its not a whole lot different for me to do a few subpages vs all of them with the script, if you want to do them its entirely up to you, just thought I'd point it out! -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:15, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
Aight, guess it's always nice to have one less thing to tackle :D Thanks for the heads-up ฅ𓂃𓏧♡ vyѕɴɑιтε ᨐᵉᵒʷฅ (тɑʟκ) 20:21, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

Glider skins req[edit]

I noticed that a while ago you added req=eod/soto/jw to all glider skin pages, even though (to the best of my knowledge) buying gemstore exclusive glider skins from the store still requires HoT owned to purchase so those additions are incorrect. However, that should only applies to buying them from the gemstore, other methods to get them in wardrobe like previous giveaways and guaranteed wardrobe unlock work and allows them to be selected from wardrobe, so it's not a blanket revert on all skin pages (just those where buying from gemstore is the only possible acquisition method). --ItVictor (talk) 11:04, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi, the addition of the other required content in that parameter was added to represent the fact, that you can unlock the gliders via EoD/SotO/JW other than HoT, which is represented in the main Gliding page, and it wasn't added by me. Even though you still need HoT to actually master its track, to my understanding you still can own and use the glider, so that = possessing/getting the skins from either of the methods and actually being able to use them. Unless it's mentioned clearly, somewhere in the wiki, that without owning the HoT, the gliders simply will not show on the Gem Store/people cannot use them, even though they unlocked the basic feature via other xpacs, and I just missed it? :D
The same thing and logic apply to the mounts and their skins, especially the ones that now can be unlocked via multiple xpacs. For example, Plush Skyscale Skin had the req of LWS4 and SotO that were added by someone else, and from my perspective it was fine and not wrong, since now you can unlock the Skyscale via those few methods, and I just ended up adding PoF, because you need to own it to play through LWS4. Another example is Plush Tiger Warclaw Skin, which also had the req set with all the content that includes the method of unlocking and possessing the Warclaw. Same thing with the Tiger-Breasted Cuckoo Springer Skin, it already had PoF/EoD, which were added with creating its page, and all I did was add JW.
My goal was to go back to all the gliders and mounts skin pages and fix the parameter so it would reflect its features pages and with what content you can unlock/possess the feature, and so that all of those old pages, along with new ones, would be actually up-to-date. Thus, I made those edits by referencing the pages that I gave the example of, which were not added by me, and it seems it wasn't causing any issue or concern before. ฅ𓂃𓏧♡ vyѕɴɑιтε ᨐᵉᵒʷฅ (тɑʟκ) 12:39, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

Event Ids[edit]

Hello. Just want to let you know that you dont need to use the stub for event ids. The API for events doesnt work for a long time now. If you look at the previous maps and their event, you will see that they also dont have ids. Example would be this event. When you look into the API yourself you will find just "text": "API not active". <3 --Daredevil icon (highres).png Sworly 17:43, 23 May 2026 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for letting me know. I had an idea that maybe it's still not whitelisted for w/e reason, and we will be able to find them later on, but now it makes more sense why I got the same message in the endpoint :D Will keep that in mind for the future event edits. ฅ𓂃𓏧♡ vyѕɴɑιтε ᨐᵉᵒʷฅ (тɑʟκ) 10:04, 24 May 2026 (UTC)

Quite right, good call on creating (and populating!) that category. I have run through the Guides screenshots and reallocated a bunch into either achievement screenshots or maps. Bot is just finishing the last 500. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:51, 30 May 2026 (UTC)

VoE events[edit]

Hello. Sorry for spamming your talk page. Just wanted to share a screenshot of an VoE event. Notice the timer. I rarely do misstakes in these parts. A bug ? Do not know. I just wanted to show you that it is there, because you were the on who rewrote it after me. Once you have seen that screenshot could you mark it for deletion ? Thank you <3. Also do belive that the one in the ruins at west side was also named like this one event. Not sure if an update changed that but I got no prove anymore. Deleted all screenshots after I made that event page --Daredevil icon (highres).png Sworly 16:46, 1 June 2026 (UTC)

Heya, luckily I was still able to recover a few of my recorded videos from the day I worked on that event page, so I will share a few of the screenshots taken from them (sorry for the poor quality).
  • The event has to be bugged at least at Temple of the Blessed Mantle area, since the timer would be stuck at any point you come to do the event (being there on spawn, jumping in the middle of it, doesn't matter). Speaking of the exact timer, on my end, it was showing 5 minutes instead. The same event at Pilgrim's Rest had a 10-minute timer for me, but sadly, I couldn't recover any of the footage from there, and I don't exactly recall if the timer was stuck or not (guess at this point will just have to revisit it again?).
  • Speaking of the event at The Temple of Abnegation, the event is basically a copy of Clear enemies from the ruins, but is named differently, which you can see here. And it has been named as such a few different times I ran into it (and the timer seems to be working well, too).
So, I guess the conclusion regarding the timer for the Clear enemies from the ruins is that it's either non-consistent between different zones, and/or also bugged (since the timer is simply not ticking). Basically, not a mistake from either side. ฅ𓂃𓏧♡ vyѕɴɑιтε ᨐᵉᵒʷฅ (тɑʟκ) 17:23, 1

June 2026 (UTC)

(update) – Revisited the event to see if its behavior has changed, and can confirm that the event is definitely bugged.
Event at Temple of the Blessed Mantle:
  • The first time I went there, it was working fine and also had a 10-minute timer (like in your screenshot), which was ticking.
  • After I relogged and came back to that area, the event was happening again, and this time it had a 5-minute timer, which was also stuck – behaved the same way as on the day I edited the event page. These two screenshots I took were taken about 10 minutes apart.
The event at Pilgrim's Rest:
Also, I very much doubt that it's the map instance issue, as the first time I ran into it was over a week ago (by now). ฅ𓂃𓏧♡ vyѕɴɑιтε ᨐᵉᵒʷฅ (тɑʟκ) 18:20, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
Maybe we should rather have Timer: x:xx ? When we dont realy know which is the bugged one ? It doesnt matter much but something to keep in mind while working on event pages. That the others might have seen it diferently --Daredevil icon (highres).png Sworly 18:24, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess it's the best choice for now, and maybe a bug notice under the notes section that currently there are some issues with the event? Think that's the best we can do, apart from reporting a bug to the support :D ฅ𓂃𓏧♡ vyѕɴɑιтε ᨐᵉᵒʷฅ (тɑʟκ) 18:30, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
