Walkthrough

Main mechanics

Primary article: Lextalion the Merciless#Combat abilities

Lextalion has many similar mechanics to Gorseval the Multifarious in the Spirit Vale raid wing. His two main avoidable mechanics are a shockwave and a signature rampage.

• Haunting Echo: The shockwave occurs after three telegraph rings (the shockwave occurs on the fourth), and must be jumped over to be avoided.
• Ghastly Rampage: Periodically, he will teleport and begin rampaging, leaving behind an expanding black ring. Getting hit by this ring will lift the player into the air temporarily.

Periodically, he will select random players and teleport them far away inside a Harrowing Prison. When this happens, the prison will also spawn an Enraged Spirit or Angered Spirit. Players should focus on killing these adds as soon as possible.

Standing in damaging fields will inflict players with  Malefic Darkness indicated by a ghost above their heads. This debuff reduces maximum HP by 25% and makes Lextalion's attacks more dangerous. It can be removed by walking into a Beneficent Light.

Look for Beneficent Light when have debuff during event.

Defiance check

At 75%, 50%, and 25%, Lextalion will initiate a mandatory defiance bar (CC) mechanic. If this check is not made, he will instantly kill all nearby players. During this time, Lextalion is immune to damage through  Protective Shadow.

If any Enraged Spirit or Angered Spirit remain alive when this mechanic starts, Lextalion will consume them and receive a 15% resistance to defiance per spirit consumed through  Shielding Fusion. For this reason, it is imperative that the spirits are slain before the boss reaches the aforementioned health thresholds.

Purchasing Electromagical Pulse from a United Legions Waystation is recommended to help meet CC requirements.

Bengt Tovasson: Raven's waul! What manner of titan is that?

Lextalion the Merciless: We are no titan, fool! They spit on us.

Lextalion the Merciless: Their souls were tempered, forged in wicked flame, but we... This is the form of our vengeance!

If the player has defeated Gorseval the Multifarious:

<Character name>: It's just like Gorseval.

Councillor Ludo: I don't care what you are. You're in our way!

Bengt Tovasson: Magic is cascading from it! Avoid those shockwaves however you can!

During Keystone's Vengeance defiance check (one of the following)

Councillor Ludo: It's pooling energy. Stop it!

Bengt Tovasson: Stun it before its power is unleashed!

Livia: It's gathering strength. Hit it hard now!

If failing to kill the spirits (one of the following)

Councillor Ludo: Those ghosts empowered it; we'll need to hit it harder!

Bengt Tovasson: It'll be more difficult to kill after eating those ghosts.

Event success

Bengt Tovasson: Go, spirits. Suffer this place no longer.

Livia: Were we as lucky.

Bengt Tovasson: Oh, I don't know. My son will envy the tales I tell of this fight.

Councillor Ludo: Livia are you...?

Livia: I... I'm fine. From here, we split our forces three ways.

Livia: Councillor, you'll take the southern route. Fourth Veil, the northern passage. Which leaves the center to me.

Livia: The ward have identified defensive barriers blocking our access to the titan's organs; we can expect heavy resistance.

Councillor Ludo: And that is why I procured some heavy firepower, courtesy of Empress Ihn. Warclaws should come in handy, too.

Bengt Tovasson: And our comms are tuned, yes? Alliance command told me not to futz with mine.

Livia: Correct. We'll keep in touch and adjust support according as we push further in.

Livia: Let's move out.

Spirit Nutritionist is only awarded to select players, even when the conditions are met. It is unknown what causes some players to obtain it.
