Updrafts allow players to ascend while they are gliding. In order to be able to use updrafts, players must have the Updraft Use gliding mastery unlocked.

Mechanics

• Entering an updraft with a glider deployed will also refill the glider's stamina bar.
• While updrafts are usually not marked on the map in open world zones, there are four updraft icons in raid maps: one by  Gorseval's Perch — in Spirit Vale, and three in the  Prison Camp — in Salvation Pass.

Related masteries

•   Enhanced Updrafts: Allows flying mounts—either a griffon or a skyscale—to refill the flight meter and endurance bar, respectively.
•   Rising Spirits: Applies  Rising Spirits while riding a griffon or skyscale, increasing the mount's endurance regeneration for 5 seconds.
•   Updraft Generator: Creates a temporary updraft upon interacting with the Updraft Generator.
