Ambient dialogue[edit]
- In the Durmand Priory camp
- Priory Historian: Something has been needling at my mind, and I believe I've finally put my finger on it.
- Priory Historian: The mursaat eradicated the seers millennia ago, and yet there's no sign that the war ever came here.
- Priory Researcher: Curious. Why do you suppose that would be?
- Priory Historian: Hard to say. Perhaps they abandoned this place early because they didn't have the resources to defend it.
- Priory Historian: Or maybe they left while it was still hidden, to make sure the mursaat never found it.
- Priory Explorer: I tell you, I may not go back at all. There's something to be said for the life out here.
- Priory Historian: Have you acquired a brain parasite or something?
- Priory Historian: I've nearly been eaten three times since I got here, and I'm sick of field rations already.
- Priory Explorer: Well, you can always come back and visit me. I'll tell the locals you don't taste good.
- Scholar Benita: Why do I always do this? I see an opportunity for exciting field work and I just leap at it.
- Scholar Benita: And I somehow always forget that there's obviously never a hot bath or a soft bed in the field.
- Priory Explorer: Check out this one. It seems to be a kind of arcane sieve, used for separating out different kinds of magic.
- Astral Ward Mage: Ooh, but what about this one? A timing-precise mechanism, possibly for tracking the season and position of the tides.
- Ash Legion Scout: Hmph. None can beat my latest find: the remnants of an arcane focus, no doubt used by the seers in their rituals.
- Astral Ward Mage: Impressive!
- Priory Explorer: Wait, but... How do you know it's not just a pretty stone?
- Ash Legion Scout: These are ancient, powerful beings! Why would they keep a regular stone just because it's pretty?
