Biography[edit]

Early years[edit]

Janthir Wilds[edit]

After the mursaat wizard Mabon's death removed the arcane ward he had placed around Bava Nisos to protect it in 1336 AE, the White Mantle trio were finally able to see past the late wizard's now crumbling illusion to make their way to the northern isle containing the fabled city. After entering Mistburned Barrens to explore the outskirts of the great mountain housing the city, the trio were manipulated by the titan Saevus Saxum, who had merged with Bava Nisos over the centuries he had been trapped there, to open the city's Mists Gate leading to the Foundry of Failed Creations in the Realm of Torment.

Upon entering the foundry, the trio eventually became trapped in the realm. Their souls merged with demonic entities who warped their minds, allowing the now maddened trio to create the titans Greer, Decima, and Ura who reflected twisted versions of their personalities. The tormented White Mantle would remain in the foundry to keep it active while the titans entered Tyria to spread corruption across Janthir and create their respective titanspawn to bolster their ranks.

In 1338 AE, a strike team including the Pact Commander, Countess Anise, Isgarren, Livia, Poised Arrow, and Waiting Sorrow entered the foundry after receiving information from Mabon's ghost on how to end the titan threat. The team soon located the tormented White Mantle trio who sensed the Scepter of Orr that Livia was carrying and demanded she give it to them. When the team refused, the White Mantle attacked them one by one, proving to be formidable foes in combat. After each tormented soul had been weakened enough to make them vulnerable, the Commander used the Heart of the Obscure in tandem with a touchstone related to the respective spirit's personal keepsake to channel the touchstones into their souls and then exorcise each soul from the Mists. The trio's banishment and Mabon subsequently sealing the Mists Gate by remaining on the other side with the Scepter of Orr ended the titan threat by severing access to the foundry.
