Walkthrough[edit]
- Return to Bava Nisos. / Find the White Mantle touchstones.
While in Bava Nisos, read the mail and take the attached item. The first touchstone is a Prayer Booklet atop the small tower just south of Lyssa Waypoint — , the second a White Mantle Badge in the small cave just northwest of Willem's Bandits — , and the third a White Mantle Torch in a house just east of Beetletun Waypoint — (the front door is locked so the back door will have to be used).
- This is where you can earn an achievement: Evidentiary Standards.
- Prepare to enter the Mists. / Face the tormented souls in the Mists. / Deal with the tormented souls.
Return to Mantle's Arrival Waypoint — and enter the instance, then follow your allies through the mist portal. The first group of Shadow Demons are a short bit south of the entrance portal, followed by a second group a bit to the north. Head south from the second group to reach the three Tormented souls: Judge, Tatyanna, and Ulrich. Each will be fought one at a time, wherein the current soul has to be brought down below 33% health and then the Special action skill Channel Touchstone has to be used to defeat them. The first two are the most dangerous, thanks to their Black Powder attack, a bouncing series of small aoes that can quickly stack up on a melee player to inflict large amounts of damage and Confusion. Ulrich is simpler, dealing low damage and inflicting Knockdown with his dashes. Return to the mist gate, speak with Mabon, and then use the gate to finish the instance.
- This is where you can earn an achievement: Foundry Survivor, It's the Ursan Way.
- Debrief the alliance and celebrate your victory.
Return to Guild Bluff Waypoint — for the closing meeting. Listen to Queen Jenna's speech and make a choice of your own, then speak to Jenna again to attend the party (optionally speaking with other allies beforehand). At the party, listen to Queen Jenna's introduction then decide what to do. One can freely taste the food, and then choose to either speak and mingle with other attendees before leaving or simply pet the cat and leave. Either way, exiting the building ends the mission.
- This is where you can earn three achievements: International Cuisine, Master Mingler, and True Introvert. The latter two are mutually exclusive, but both can be earned in one playthrough by completing Master Mingler first without leaving, exiting to character select, then restarting the instance to earn True Introvert. True Introvert must be done last, as it is only earned on chapter completion.
Achievements[edit]
| Evidentiary Standards | Absolution | 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Gather all evidence of White Mantle activity while locating the touchstones.Journal: Salvation's Cost |
Gathered 12 Pieces of Evidence | 1 |
- Each touchstone has a number of items near them:
- First: Bedroll (Used Bedroll), Banner (Suspicious Flagstand), Strange Bell, Unusual Altar (all at the same building, though the banner is on the roof outside), Prayer Booklet - Rurikton Waypoint —
- Second: Banners, White Mantle Corpse, Open Journal, White Mantle Badge - Willem's Bandits —
- Third: White Mantle Shield, Menacing Statue, White Mantle Torch - Beetletun Waypoint —
- Eligibility is tracked by the effect Achievement Eligibility: Evidentiary Standards.
- Each zone's eligibility is lost upon leaving the map after finding the touchstone, so the other items should be gathered first in case of disconnects etc.
| Foundry Survivor | Absolution | 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Survive all encounters in the Foundry of Failed Creations without being downed.Journal: Salvation's Cost | Survived All Encounters in the Foundry of Failed Creations without Being Downed | 1 |
- Simply defeat all the Shadow Demons and the three Tormented souls without being downed.
- The Shadow Demons are a relatively low danger, with only dazes from Shadow Wurms and stuns from Infinite Shadows being the real concern.
- Of the three Tormented Souls, Ulrich is mostly just an annoyance as only the Knockdown from his dashes is a concern. Judge and Tatyanna's respective Black Powder attacks can however deal large amounts of damage incredibly quickly, though this can be avoided by staying out of melee range with them.
- Eligibility is tracked by the effect Achievement Eligibility: Foundry Survivor.
| Absolution | 0 | |
|---|---|---|
| Call on the memory of heroes long past to survive the Realm of Torment. | Called on Heroic Memories | 0 |
- Use Become the Bear, the norn elite racial skill, when you are inside The Realm of Torment. This means you cannot do this with a Norn Revenant, as they do not have access to racial skills.
- Hint: You can earn that achievement even if you are not the owner of the instance. As such, there is a rather straightforward way to earn that achievement if your story character is not a Norn, without having to run through a single fight:
- Have a Norn character with access to Become the Bear (so at least Level 31).
- Group up with someone who's already completed the Salvation's Cost chapter so they can select it for replay.
- Go to Mantle's Arrival (use e.g. a Teleport to Friend to reach the other player there). That player will have a purple story replay marker next to the waypoint.
- They can then choose the "Replay Salvation's Cost: Foundry of Failed Creation for achievements" option, and you'll have a prompt to join them in their story instance.
- After the cutscene, use the Become the Bear skill - it should unlock the achievement.
| International Cuisine | Absolution | 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Sample all of the dishes at the buffet while attending the Tyrian Alliance's celebration.Journal: Salvation's Cost |
Sampled 5 Dishes | 1 |
- All five (technically fifteen) dishes can be found in the inner corner of the north room. Simply interact with and use at least one of the foods at each table to complete the achievement.
- The dishes are arranged in the same order as the listing in the achievement, from left to right: Krytan Cuisine, Ascalonian Cuisine, Maguuma Cuisine, Canthan Cuisine, and Elonian Cuisine.
- Eligibility is tracked by the effect Achievement Eligibility: International Cuisine.
| Master Mingler | Absolution | 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Speak with all of the partygoers during the Tyrian Alliance's celebration.Journal: Salvation's Cost |
Spoke with 32 Partygoers | 1 |
- Speak with all 32 available allies during the "Mingle with friends and allies at the celebration." objective.
- The other partygoers are scattered across in the central, north, and south wings, but since they are all marked as an objective on the screen if they haven't been spoken to, they are still fairly hard to miss.
- Livia is located at the top of the tower to the south.
- Caithe and Isgarren are quite close to the door, so make sure to avoid stepping too far through it when speaking to them.
- Poised Arrow has two dialogue options, so he has to be spoken with twice.
- Checking in with any or all of your allies during the "Check in with your allies before the celebration" objective isn't necessary to complete this achivement.
- The other partygoers are scattered across in the central, north, and south wings, but since they are all marked as an objective on the screen if they haven't been spoken to, they are still fairly hard to miss.
- Mutually exclusive with True Introvert.
- Eligibility is tracked by the effect Achievement Eligibility: Master Mingler.
| Absolution | 1 | |
|---|---|---|
Pet the cat at the party and leave without socializing with anyone.Journal: Salvation's Cost
|
Petted the Cat and Left the Party | 1 |
- Do not speak with anyone during the "Mingle with friends and allies at the celebration." objective. Instead, pet the cat located to the right of the fireplace, behind Waiting Sorrow and Stoic Alder, in the Meeting Hall before simply leaving.
- Simply interacting with anyone removes the eligibility for this achievement, even if no dialogue option is selected.
- Approaching Queen Jennah and Anise triggers their dialogue automatically and gives progress for Master Mingler, but doesn't remove eligibility for True Introvert.
- Checking in with any or all of your allies during the "Check in with your allies before the celebration" objective doesn't prevent this achievement from being completed.
- Mutually exclusive with Master Mingler.
- Both can be earned in one playthrough by completing Master Mingler first without leaving, exiting to character select, then restarting the instance to earn True Introvert. True Introvert must be done last, as it is only earned on chapter completion.
- Eligibility is tracked by the effect Achievement Eligibility: True Introvert.
- After leaving the party, the effect will still be active, but none of the party-goers want to talk to you anymore.

Mail[edit]

Help with Touchstones Commander, To no one's surprise, Mabon and the wizards have employed their typical cryptic form of guidance. I'm sure you're left with more questions than answers about how to proceed. To that end, I'm sending you this report on known White Mantle activity over the past several months. Hopefully this will help you track down these touchstones. You can thank me later. |
Here are the known White Mantle hideouts that the Shining Blade continue to monitor for activity. Though none of our spies reported any noteworthy activity the past few months, that doesn't mean that our three White Mantle wouldn't have left ties to their actions at any of the locations. At minimum, it's worth getting a closer look.
Divinity's Reach: In the past, Shining Blade agents have observed White Mantle activity by the gardens in the northeastern corner of Rurikton. As it is near the gates leading to Lake Doric, it continues to be a notorious spot for White Mantle vs. Seraph altercations.
Brisban Wildlands: Their hideout north of this region remains abandoned after we cleaned out one of their cells during that whole Lazarus adventure. However, clusters of the bandits in the Wendon Steps continue to be sympathetic to the White Mantle. They may still harbor the occasional justicar and their forces. Couldn't hurt to take a look.
Shire of Beetletun: In the northeast corner of Queensdale, the shire situated right outside Caudecus's former estate remains under the Shining Blade's watchful eye. Still, the minister's most loyal servants make pilgrimages to the site, perhaps hoping that against all hope that he may someday return. Pathetic, really... But then again, here we are working with a wizard returned from death. Who are we to judge what's possible? At any rate, I could see any of our three loyalists wanting to remain close to Caudecus this way.
Exactly what should you be looking for at these locations? That, I leave to your judgment... A "you'll know it when you see it" sort of thing. Best of luck, Commander.
Divinity's Reach[edit]
- Examining the Banner outside
- On the surface, nothing appears particularly interesting about this banner bearing the Krytan royal family crest.
- Examine the banner more closely.
- Moving closer, you can see that the banner is thicker than expected. It looks as though there is more than one layer of cloth hanging from the frame.
- Take the top banner down.
- (The banner turns into a White Mantle banner.)
- Leave the banner alone.
- Interacting with the Bedroll
- This bedroll appears to have been here a while. It looks spoiled and worn from repeated use, probably by more than one person.
- Leave the bedroll alone.
- Ringing the Strange Bell
- (The bell rings a few times.)
- Examining the Strange Altar
- This appears to be some sort of altar, placed here with reverence. The candles on its surface burn with unnatural flames and smell vaguely of brimstone.
- Leave the altar alone.
- Taking Prayer Booklet, the first touchstone
- <Character name>: Judge's prayer book. Seems inoffensive enough. Well, words can certainly shape your views.
- <Character name>: Though some people will shape words 'til they fit their views. That's usually when things get dangerous...
Brisban Wildlands[edit]
- Examining the White Mantle Banner
- The banner proudly displays the familiar white emblem of the White Mantle on a field of crimson red.
- It's hard to believe that groups like this can endure for so long.
- Examining the White Mantle Corpse
- This White Mantle appears to have been crushed by the rubble surrounding the body. The man died recently, as the body has yet to show signs of decomposition.
- Where did this rubble even come from?
- Reading the Journal
It is done.
We have purged this place of unbelievers. Every last one of the unfaithful...gone. Only three of us remain now... Ulrich, Judge, and I. It was not easy... Some of those among the fallen were friends. Once.
But they refused our vision. They wished to give up on our chosen mission. To doubt the undying will of Caudecus, even after the noble sacrifice he made for us. They learned the penalty for such abhorrent betrayal. For disloyalty. And now, you who reads our cause know the price of misgiving.
With this journal, I leave behind the badge earned by passing my test, along with the others in my cohort of initiates. To accompany it...another surprise, should any of our former allies try to find us in this place we once considered sanctuary.
The old ways are dead. We three shall now go forth to chart the future of the White Mantle. Upon our return, you will know the price for that future has been paid in our blood. We will come with cleansing fire.
You have been warned.
- Taking the White Mantle Badge, the second touchstone
- <Character name>: A White Mantle badge. Looks like Tatyanna's.
- <Character name>: A mark of status as much as belonging. Should've been more careful where she sought to belong.
Queensdale[edit]
- Examining the Shield
- The shield propped in the corner looks recently smithed, as though it has never been used in battle. It proudly bears the crest of the White Mantle in the center of the boss.
- Ceremonial, perhaps?
- Examining the Statue
- Despite it being carved from lifeless stone, the visage of this statue glares at you with hooded eyes and a disapproving scowl that fills you with a strong sense of judgment and dread.
- Is that meant to be Caudecus?
- Taking the White Mantle Torch, the third touchstone
- <Character name>: A torch from Caudecus's estate. Must've been a gift to Ulrich.
- <Character name>: I'm sure a gesture like that comes as high praise to his most devout. Personally, I'd take it as an insult.
- <Character name>: Looks like that's all of them. I should really get back to Bava Nisos. Mabon can only hold the gate so long.
Bava Nisos[edit]
- Talking to Second Hunter Kamilla next to the instance entry
- Wayfinder. We always seem to meet in the nicest places. Given the present conditions, Frode sent my squad here to stand ready to take you deeper into the belly of the beast. Just say the word.
- What can we expect deeper inside?
- It's chaotic. You've seen the defenses that titan's got... Once you go inside it, all bets are off. But that's what we're here for. My infiltration experts'll make sure you get where you need to go.
- Thanks, Kamilla.
- How's Rian?
- He's good. He's got his hands full helping to collect mursaat artifacts that the Astral Ward's been finding in Mistburned Barrens. I'll tell him you said hello.
- All my best to you both.
- I'm good for now, Kamilla.
Saevus's Heart instance[edit]
- Approaching your allies
- <Character name>: I located the touchstones. All mementos from their time with the White Mantle.
- Livia: Imagine having such a sad life that your most valuable possessions are from joining a cult.
- Mabon: People in impossible circumstances tend to seek hope in impossible salvations.
- Mabon: Tormented as their souls might be, these items shall resonate with their owners enough to cleave the demonic essence.
- Livia: If it were up to me, they'd rot in the bowels of that hellscape for all eternity. That, I'd consider justice.
- Isgarren: As might I. But if the price of their damnation is the birth of more titans, does that not compound the injustice?
- Mabon: There will be time for philosophical discussion later. I cannot hold this gate indefinitely.
- <Character name>: No use delaying. Let's move out.
Foundry of Failed Creations instance[edit]
- Opening cutscene
- Poised Arrow: What is this nightmare?
- Waiting Sorrow: Right, this is your first time here. We're in the Realm of Torment. Deep in the Mists. It's sort of an afterlife...
- Isgarren: The Foundry of Failed Creations, to be precise. The abyss from which titans are born.
- Anise: Mabon said the tormented souls are anchoring the gate from here, so they should be nearby.
- Approaching the Shadow Demons
- Waiting Sorrow: Ren, you were here before, do these demons look different than you remember them?
- Isgarren: They do appear to have changed. It has been quite some time since my last visit...
- <Character name>: You've been here?
- Isgarren: Centuries ago. I had to clean up after some..."heroes."
- After defeating the first group of Demons
- Poised Arrow: Sorrow, you said this place is like an afterlife. So not everyone who dies ends up here, right?
- Waiting Sorrow: No, no. It's mostly just for corrupt souls. It gets more complicated than that but...nothing to worry about.
- Poised Arrow: Oh. Okay...
- Discovering the tormented souls
- Anise: There they are! That has to be them!
- Livia: Approach with caution. I sense their...hunger through the scepter.
- Tormented Ulrich: You've travelled far to bear us this scepter. Long used in our kind's subjugation, it has found its rightful home.
- Tormented Judge: With it, we shall rule our own destiny. So it is written, so it is our divine right.
- Tormented Tatyanna: Kneel now, and relinquish our gift! Then maybe we'll allow you to leave unharmed.
- Livia: I watched my homeland burn at the hands of your kind. You think I'd bow to you, let alone gift you such power?
- Livia: The shadow has warped your minds. We'll be sure to set them straight.
- Once Tormented Judge is down to 33% health
- <Character name>: You were always the weak link. Saevus knew it and played you like the pawn you are.
- Tormented Judge: You speak falsehoods. Retribution will meet you in the end.
- Poised Arrow: Sounds like it's meeting you first.
- Waiting Sorrow: Wayfinder, the prayer book. Use the Heart to channel its essence into his soul.
- After channeling the touchstone into Tormented Judge
- Poised Arrow: (scoffs) Hollow as his own righteousness. I can't stand people like that!
- Once Tormented Tatyanna is down to 33% health
- Tormented Tatyanna: Wicked oafs with your vile tricks. What is...what is happening to me? What have you done?
- Waiting Sorrow: The Heart, Wayfinder. Channel the badge's essence into her soul.
- Once Tormented Ulrich is down to 33% health
- Tormented Ulrich: You will not defeat us! In the name of Caudecus! Of Saul!
- Isgarren: Caudecus's torch. The Heart will channel its essence. Do it, Wayfinder!
- After channeling the touchstone into Tormented Ulrich
- Anise: Pick better heroes next time.
- <Character name>: That should do it.
- Livia: Small-minded fools... They didn't deserve absolution.
- Isgarren: Some may very well say the same of us. Perhaps none of us are so deserving.
- Waiting Sorrow: Either way, it's a discussion best saved for Tyria. I've had my fill of the Underworld for at least another century.
- Once returned to the Mists gate
- Mabon: You've done well, my friends. You corrected my mistake when I could not.
- Mabon: And here I thought Eparch was your finest work to date...
- <Character name>: Huh.
- Isgarren: We did not shoulder those burdens in solitude. What a difference it makes, entrusting the confidence of others.
- Isgarren: Though perhaps some could learn to be more patient so as to encourage such trust...
- Mabon: Lessons abound. Now all that remains is to close the Mists gate from this side. And then... I may rest.
- Waiting Sorrow: So, this is good-bye, then... I'm...grateful I had the chance to say it this time.
- Mabon: As am I. It's good to see you back. You're right where you should be.
- Waiting Sorrow: Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.
- Poised Arrow: I like the sound of that.
- Mabon: Anise, keep Livia in line. Livia, you do the same for Anise. I'd tell you to keep her safe as well, but...
- Mabon: I know her better than that. She's more than capable.
- Livia: (chuckles)
- Anise: You know me well. (beat) You'll be missed...
- Mabon: Isgarren, I chose the wayfinder for a reason. Place faith in one another. And each give the other a reason to do so.
- <Character name>: You have my word.
- Isgarren: Yes, well, I think it's about time... Livia.
- Livia: Fine.
- Isgarren: Good-bye, my friend.
- Mabon: Farewell. Thank you.
- (Livia gives Mabon the scepter and everybody leaves)
- Talking to Mabon
- Wayfinder. So this is good-bye once more. Suppose we're getting better with practice...
- I'd certainly say so. And I meant it earlier: you do have my word.
- It's not yours that gives me pause. Though perhaps Eparch was correct on one notion: you and Isgarren bear some things in common. I trust you both to navigate them.
- We've managed this long. Ask Eparch. Though you already seem well aware...
- I have my ways. Maintain that amity and it'll serve you well. Take care of yourself, Wayfinder.
- Farewell, Mabon.
- Using the Mists Gate
- The Mists gate beckons you back to Tyria. You can sense that Mabon has set it to deliver you safely to the Alliance Staging Ground in Mistburned Barrens.
- Take the portal back to Mistburned Barrens.
(A cutscene shows Mabon destroying the Mists gate from within the Foundry of Failed Creations.)
Guild Initiative Headquarters instance[edit]
- Entering the building
- Lionguard Lieutenant: Welcome, Commander. The council is waiting for you in the audience chamber.
- <Character name>: Thank you.
- Upon taking your place at the podium to begin the briefing
- Councillor Ludo: I, Councillor Ludo of Rata Sum, call this session to order.
- Councillor Ludo: As we are here to discuss recent events in Janthir and Bava Nisos, Countess, would you care to deliver your report?
- Anise: Of course.
- (Anise walks forward to address the chamber.)
- Anise: We traced the cause of the titan outbreak to the White Mantle. They were sent into Janthir on Caudecus's behalf before his death.
- Anise: They were searching for a Mists gate in Bava Nisos to give their leader an upper hand. To what end, we're still parsing out.
- Anise: They were all killed, but they were also successful in their mission. Hence our little titan problem.
- Anise: But that problem has been resolved. The titans are dead—all four of them. The gate is sealed.
- Anise: Commander, you were a firsthand participant in these events. Can you confirm for the council?
- (Anise walks back behind Queen Jennah.)
- Giving your report
- <Character name>: I can testify to the countess's report. We were able to defeat the three initial titans. And then a fourth.
- <Character name>: It'd been living in the city since the city fell. When the White Mantle entered the ruins, it manipulated them into opening the gate.
- <Character name>: The scepter, Legavo, played a significant role in sealing it. Livia's judgment aside.
- (You think carefully about what you believe that the Tyrian Alliance should focus on at the conclusion of your report).
- Call on the memory of a fallen friend.
- <Character name:> A former wizard of the Astral Ward—or his memory—guided us. Without him... We may not be here today.
- (If you sided with Livia in Forced Entry)
- Remind the council of your judgment.
- <Character name>: But my approval of Livia's use of Legavo was made clear.
- <Character name>: Though we emerged victorious, I'm prepared to face whatever judgment this council deems necessary.
- (If you chose against using the scepter in Forced Entry)
- Remind the council of the logic of acting decisively.
- <Character name>: I can't endorse Lady Livia going against the alliance's decision, but action proved more productive than inaction.
- Focus the council to reflect on a great victory.
- <Character name>: We ventured into the gut of the beast and cut off its life source. It is dead. The menace is gone.
- Anise: In short, the gate was sealed, the titans were defeated, and the Scepter of Orr was lost to the Mists.
- Councillor Ludo: Thank you both. We will be meeting throughout the coming days with the rest of the alliance to scrutinize every detail.
- Councillor Ludo: There's much work to be done. Including providing the kodan with any supplies needed to recoup their losses while aiding our alliance.
- If you chose to side with Livia:
- Councillor Ludo: We will also discuss Livia and the commander's penalty. Though, the council knows where I stand on those actions...
- If you chose not to use the scepter:
- Councillor Ludo: We will also discuss Lady Livia's penalty. Though, the council knows where I stand on those actions.
- Livia: Is losing my beauty routine not punishment enough?
- Councillor Ludo: But for now, the rest of you can pat yourselves on the shoulder.
- Councillor Ludo: Dismissed.
- Queen Jennah: To celebrate your victory, we've organized a bit of a soiree that will commence later this evening. A well-earned reprieve.
- Queen Jennah: Collect yourselves. Mourn. Heal. And acknowledge what we've all experienced. Just as the bearkin taught us.
- Stoic Alder: Indeed.
- Talking to Poised Arrow and Stoic Alder
- Poised Arrow: Oh, now that I've established myself as a hero for the song books, I figure "lowland ambassador" is next on my list.
- Stoic Alder: My son's confidence has never wavered. Even when it should have.
- Poised Arrow: And my paw's nerves have never stilled. Even when his son has made a name for himself as a guardian of Janthir.
- Stoic Alder: You've done well, son. You've weathered life's storms with the very poise your maw hoped for.
- Stoic Alder: Much of what I sought to teach you, you've taught me by way of example. Bravery. Weathering grief. Granting forgiveness.
- Stoic Alder: I am proud beyond words, just as your maw would be if she could see you now.
- Poised Arrow: Maw would be just as proud of you. We've had a tough to of it. C'mon, we've earned a celebration!
- Stoic Alder: Hmm, let's see if this alliance can put on a party half as good as us lowlanders.
- Poised Arrow: (laughs) Yeah!
- Talking to Livia
- Commander, come to wish me well before they haul me off to...wherever they decide to haul me off to?
- Do you regret what happened?
- Livia: Not in the least. I suspect the alliance would've come to the same decision eventually, but time was not on our side.
- Livia: I did what I had to do, but I also accept whatever repercussions I may face after.
- If you chose to side with Livia:
- Livia: And I'll make sure the council knows how foolish they would be to punish you for my actions. I'm responsible, not you.
- Livia: For starters, I've been uninvited from your little party. I suppose it's fair... I'll just have to throw my own.
- Anise: I'll put streamers up in your cell.
- Talking to Waiting Sorrow and Isgarren
- Waiting Sorrow: And it's done...
- <Character name>: I'm glad you joined us, Sorrow. How do you feel?
- Waiting Sorrow: Warm. There's comfort in solitude... It's easier. But there's also comfort in belonging again.
- Waiting Sorrow: I can't imagine returning to shadow after all of this.
- Isgarren: As Mabon said, you are right where you should be.
- Waiting Sorrow: Of course you'd think that. You just want to keep tabs on me, Ren. Don't like your things out of place.
- Isgarren: You are a sobering presence.
- Waiting Sorrow: As are you.
- Talking to Queen Jennah
- Commander, you've once more proved yourself a friend of Kryta and all of Tyria. We can start the festivities in honor of your accomplishments whenever you're ready.
- Let's get this party started!
- Give me a few more moments.
- After the party has started
- <Character name>: Look at this crowd. Nice to see everyone.
- Joining the crowd for the speech by Queen Jennah
- Anise: (clears throat) Everyone.
- Queen Jennah: I hope you've all been enjoying the evening. It has been delightful to share a glass with so many familiar faces.
- Queen Jennah: We are surrounded by friends tonight. New and old. There are many bonds that are just beginning to blossom.
- Queen Jennah: We are here to celebrate our victory. But we also celebrate the alliance and what it represents.
- Queen Jennah: Change. Productivity. Healing. Tyria.
- Queen Jennah: There are challenging days ahead of us; we are not ignorant. As long as there is ground beneath our feet, there will be conflict.
- Queen Jennah: But we are more prepared to face that conflict when we care for each other.
- Queen Jennah: Now, raise a glass to your neighbor.
- Queen Jennah: To Tyria. And the brightest of futures.
- <Character name>: To Tyria!
- Poised Arrow: Wa-haa!
- Isgarren: (grunts) Yes.
- Dagda: (roars)
- Captain Ellen Kiel: Cheers.
- Councillor Ludo: To Tyria.
- Anise: To Tyria.
- Waiting Sorrow: (chuckles)
- Canach: Tyria.
- Stoic Alder: To the dawn, after a long night of storm.
- (The credits of Janthir Wilds appear)
Mingling at the celebration[edit]
- Joining Anise and Queen Jennah
- Queen Jennah: I'm glad to see your hair brushed, Countess.
- Anise: If I had to act as liaison between Livia and the council for one more day, I'd have no hair left to brush.
- Queen Jennah: (laughs) Thankfully, your responsibility has been fulfilled. For now. Enjoy yourself. Call my hair dresser!
- Anise: You don't pay me enough to listen to that woman's banter. I'll see if Logan has some time.
- Queen Jennah: That would certainly be a sight... But, say, did I... Did I see him...? Is he here now?
- Anise: I was hoping you wouldn't notice... He is. Haven't you heard? He's with the Pact again.
- Queen Jennah: As my advisor, you are supposed to tell me these things! How do I look?
- Anise: With those flushed cheeks? Darling.
- Talking to Empress Ihn
- Well, Commander, it seems you continue to move the earth beneath all of our feet. If there is one thing that I have come to count on, it is the impact you have on our world, for good or ill.
- I hope it is for the good, Empress.
- I'll try to live up to that, Empress.
- Talking to Ayumi
- Ohh! Hello again, Commander. Lovely to see you. And this place is just beautiful! Well, once you get past the smell, that is. Reminds me of Kaineng...
- How are you finding life outside Cantha?
- I'm managing to find happiness. The empress is insistent that our people remain involved in these proceedings, so that honor is mine. Though, I'll be eager to see home again.
- I hope you get that chance soon.
- I should let you enjoy the celebration.
- Talking to Captain Ellen Kiel
- I...oh, it's you. Hi. Sorry, you've caught me in the middle of...never mind.
- You look intense, Captain Kiel. Something on your mind?
- Captain Ellen Kiel: I'm realizing that with the kind of profile the alliance brings to Lion's Arch, we could use some additional security.
- Captain Ellen Kiel: The Lionguard's used to dealing with pirates and scofflaws... We're not trained in protecting world leaders.
- <Character name>: Maybe you could speak with the Vigil? Jhavi's been doing a good job with them. Or Logan. I heard he's back with the Pact.
- Captain Ellen Kiel: Thackeray! Yes. Yes! He'll—er, I'm sure the Pact's forces would suit our needs. Now, take a couple steps back, Commander.
- Captain Ellen Kiel: I don't want him thinking we're together.
- (Kiel runs off over to Logan Thackeray)
- I'll leave you to...whatever you're up to.
- Talking to Rytlock Brimstone
- Commander. I hear you've gone and gotten yourself yet another title? You collect those things like I collect notches on Sohothin. Also hear you buried a few titans without me. Hmph.
- Sorry, yeah... If I'd have known you were free...
- Free? Hah. Not bloody likely. Crecia keeps me busy morning, noon, and night. I'm lucky to even get time to train these days, much less adventurin'. Nah, feels like those days might be behind me.
- Never say never, Rytlock.
- Next time, Tribune.
- Talking to Frode
- Wayfinder. Hard to believe how quickly the world can change, isn't it? I admit to great relief that we no longer need to hide from the rest of Tyrian society. It makes my job ten times easier.
- What's been the best part of that shift?
- Accountability. With the amount of secrecy we used to employ, we only needed to answer to ourselves. Now, we are subject to authority besides our own, and it can only make us better.
- That's a very progressive mindset, Warden.
- I'm glad you're doing well, Frode.
- Talking to Poised Arrow
- Wayfinder! This party is...there are so many people. And they all know you! You're damned popular! Not that I'm surprised...
- I see you're having fun, Poky.
- Poised Arrow: (laughs) Your people really know how to party, Wayfinder! Could go stein for stein with us bearkin!
- Poised Arrow: Been awhile since I've had fun for fun's sake. My paw and I both. Least I swear I heard a few chuckles out of him.
- <Character name>: They're getting along.
- Poised Arrow: Just happy to see them happy again. Together.
- Poised Arrow: "Fallen trees may dam the flow of a river, but the water, as always, finds its way home."
- So, where are you headed after this? Back to the village?
- Poised Arrow: Not a chance! I'm off to the Shiverpeaks! Dawn asked if I wanted to help her with some tasks for Isgarren.
- <Character name>: Dawn?
- Poised Arrow: Oh, bit of nickname I picked for Sorrow. It's just... "Sorrow" didn't seem quite right anymore. Now "Dawn," that's a fit!
- Poised Arrow: Bright skies ahead and all... Maybe not the most profound of choices...
- Poised Arrow: Remember what my paw said about dropping formality to show respect? Well... I felt she earned it...
- <Character name>: That's very thoughtful, Poky. I'm sure she appreciates it.
- Poised Arrow: Now you, Wayfinder. Noticed, I did, that some of your friends still address you as the swashbuckling "Commander."
- Poised Arrow: It's the same idea, yes? A sign of respect from friends who've fought by your side? Well, now we've done just that!
- <Character name>: I suppose. I don't like where this is going...
- Poised Arrow: Well, I've come up with something to capture the essence of both. What do you think, "Commfinder?"
- <Character name>: I'm walking away now.
- Poised Arrow: Ha! Only a bit of razzing. But worry not—one day, I'll stumble across the perfect choice. You wait and see!
- Take care of yourself.
- Talking to Sayida the Sly
- Commander, of course you're at the center of things, as always.
- Goodness, do I want to know what you two are doing here?
- Canach: I would've expected a much warmer greeting than that, Commander. Naughty, naughty.
- Sayida the Sly: Behave, you.
- Sayida the Sly: Lawson invited us to tag along. We've been spending more time in Lion's Arch these days.
- Sayida the Sly: Business, mostly. And we're not very good at sitting still for very long.
- Canach: I see your face. It's nothing you need to worry that pretty little head about. We're not up to anything illegal.
- Canach: Just trying to find a home for the club's cash flow. I'm hungry for a good investment.
- Canach: Now, ignore us! Enjoy your party. Erm, what is it we're celebrating...?
- Smooth sailing, Sayida!
- Talking to Canach
- Commander, the odds were high that I'd run into you here, and you never disappoint. Sadly, no one wanted to wager against you...this time. You're becoming predictable.
- Do I even want to know what you two are doing here? (Same as above)
- Good to see you too, Canach.
- Talking to Braham Eirsson
- Commander! Good to see you. Always reassuring to see that you're still out there, saving the world.
- You miss the action, Braham?
- Sometimes. But my mom was right: I needed to set my own course, not just follow hers. I'm finding my way... And who knows where that way might take me. But for now, I'm good.
- Glad to hear it.
- Pace yourself, Braham.
- Talking to Kalidris Sparrowhawk
- Well met, Commander. On behalf of my people, and all within the Dominion of Winds, we thank you for your continued bravery and service to Tyria.
- Do you think the dominion will open, now that things are settling?
- Our elders are still, understandably, fearful of the ways our people remain under threat. Our talks with Empress Ihn and Ayumi, however, have shown...progress. Perhaps, in our lifetimes...
- I hope that day comes, Kalidris.
- Thank you for your kind words, Kalidris.
- Talking to Caithe
- I knew leaving the bearkin in your capable hands was a good thing. I'm sure wherever Aurene is, she'd be proud of your achievements. I know I am.
- What's next for you, Caithe?
- Much the same, I'm afraid. Mother's slow recovery continues to vex even our best minds. It makes me wonder whether there's something deeper at the root of her illness.
- I hope brighter days are ahead for her.
- (If sylvari)
- Perhaps we'll find out together, sister.
- I appreciate it, Caithe. I'll let you enjoy the party.
- Talking to Isgarren
- Hm?
- Uh...Isgarren? You all right?
- Isgarren: Ah, Wayfinder. I was just about to leave.
- <Character name>: Not the party type?
- Isgarren: No. That much should be apparent by now.
- Isgarren: I am not immutable, but... Well, history takes its toll. Habits born of lifetimes.
- Isgarren: Still, I can appreciate this moment for what it is. However fleeting.
- (Isgarren leaves)
- Oh...you seem preoccupied. Never mind.
- Talking to Agent Riel Darkwater
- Well, well. The guest of honor wants to speak with me? To what do I owe such an honor, <Character name>? Forgive me, is that too informal? Shall I use Commander, or perhaps Wayfinder, instead?
- (If Order of Whispers)
- Clever, creating distance by pretending we don't know each other...
- It's good to see you haven't forgotten all your lessons in tradecraft, my dear. You know, one of these days, you'll need to return to the Chantry for a...thorough debriefing.
- Right. I'll...try to make it down there soon.
- (Otherwise)
- Anything works. I'm not one to stand on ceremony.
- Oh, you're no fun. I was hoping to elicit at least a few scandalous glares our way. How else are we to attract the attention of the Tyrian Gazette?
- O...kay?
- I've got to go, actually.
- Talking to Laranthir of the Wild
- Commander, once again the world owes you an immense debt of gratitude. It seems there is nothing you cannot overcome when you set your mind to it.
- How goes things with the Pact?
- Well enough. It has been a challenge, shifting all of our logistical support from one massive threat to many, smaller ones, but Marshal Thackeray has done a tremendous job so far.
- Good luck on the continued reshuffling.
- Have a drink on me, Laranthir.
- Talking to Gixx
- Wayfinder now, is it? That may take some getting used to. But enough pleasantries. Do you have time for a rather delicate, and perhaps perplexing, inquiry?
- (If Priory)
- I'm at your service, as always, Steward.
- (Otherwise)
- Yeah, I supposed I have a moment.
- You've spoken with Empress Ihn up close, yes? I must know...is she wearing slippers? Or does she, like Queen Jennah, go barefoot beneath those voluminous skirts? Is this an odd human comportment?
- I...the thought never crossed my mind. Excuse me...
- I just remembered...I've got to take care of something.
- Talking to Warmaster Jhavi Jorasdottir
- Ah, Commander! The hero of the hour! No, the year! The decade! Skalds[sic] will sing songs of you for generations, I'd wager. Maybe there's one verse in that tale for ol' Jhavi to appear, eh?
- You seem in exceptionally good spirits!
- That's because I'm three flagons deep aleady. I was just abut to drag Eirsson over there away to see about finding another keg somewhere... Up for a round together later?
- That sounds like a party. Have fun!
- I'm good, thanks. Enjoy yourself!
- Talking to Arina
- Wayfinder. Fancy seeing you here again. Though, truthfully, I guess I shouldn't be surprised... Where a crisis is brewing, you're never far behind.
- Arina! Are you here with the warden?
- Arina: Wayfinder. I am.
- Arina: My hunters have been assisting the Pact—all of the Astral Ward has. Rifts still plague the Tyrian mainland, after all.
- Arina: And between old friends, it's been amusing to see an organization more dysfunctional than the Astral Ward. (laughs heartily)
- Arina: But I paint no shade. The Pact has experienced similar trials to our own. I have great empathy for their struggles.
- Arina: And with Logan Thackeray joing them at the helm... They are on a healthy path.
- Arina: I could even see a future where the Astral Ward functioned as one of their orders. We have more similarities than differences.
- Enjoy the festivities, Arina.
- Talking to Skarti Knutsson
- Welcome back, and congratulations, Commander. You're a constant source of inspiration to all of us, <Character name>. Oh, uh...you don't mind if I call you that, do you? Only, that's what Braham calls you...
- A friend of Braham's is a friend of mine.
- Thanks, my friend.
- Talking to Chief Councilor Imann
- Ahai, Commander. It pleases me to see you once again. Our people will forever be in your debt, and yet you have not stopped being at the center of Tyria's many problems. Do you ever tire?
- More than you know. But it's worth it.
- Such humility. Your continued success gives me renewed faith that Kormir was right to leave the world in our hands, especially when there are those like you to help guide our path forward.
- I will continue to do what I can, Councilor.
- Thank you, Councilor. Enjoy the party.
- Talking to Spearmarshal Zaeim
- Ahai, Commander. You do all of us honor with your continued acts of heroism and selflessness. You will always be an honorary Sunspear in my eyes, my friend.
- Much appreciated, Spearmarshal. How are things in Elona?
- I wish you well, Spearmarshal.
- Talking to Firstborn Dagonet
- It is always good to celebrate these victories, and more often than not, I feel it is owing to your heroism and dedication. You are an inspiration, Wayfinder <Character name>.
- I've had so much support. I couldn't do any of this alone.
- I'm grateful for your support.
- Talking to Commodore Lawson Marriner
- Good evening, Commander. I hope you find the festivities suitable... Captain Kiel insisted on only the best. The international buffet was her idea. Have you sampled all the different foods yet?
- I haven't yet, Commodore. But it looks incredible!
- I tried the Canthan spiced and sour soup, and, by Balthazar, it's hot! I bet my grandfather Cobiah would feel the sweat on his brow! I may have to see about finding some milk... Excuse me.
- Best of luck, Commodore.
- Thank you, Commodore.
- Talking to Waiting Sorrow
- Wayfinder. I owe you more than words can say. The future may feel challenging, but I am hopeful. And that is something.
- Those are some serious faces for a soiree.
- Waiting Sorrow: Ah, Wayfinder... Yes, our conversation is not a light one. Don't let us sully your good time.
- <Character name>: Tell me.
- Waiting Sorrow: Well... Today, I revealed myself to the alliance. But next...
- Stoic Alder: The bearkin will understand in time. The coming months may challenge them. But without challenge, there can be no growth.
- Waiting Sorrow: I know you're right, but...I wish there was an easier way...
- Stoic Alder: It will be worth it. As you well know, I'd long averted my gaze from that notion...
- Stoic Alder: But then, I met one whose life-fire shone so brilliantly, I could no longer look away.
- Waiting Sorrow: Alder. Without you and Poky, I'd have never gotten this far. That goes for you, too, Wayfinder.
- Stoic Alder: Indeed. On behalf of the lowlanders, you have my highest gratitude, Wayfinder.
- Stoic Alder: And on behalf of two bearkin who know the cruel torment of good-byes left unsaid, farewell for now.
- Stoic Alder: May the fire inside forever guide you home.
- Take care of yourself, Waiting Sorrow.
- Talking to Stoic Alder
- Wayfinder, your bravery will be spoken of by us bearkin for generations. You have proven yourself a strong ally to our people.
- Those are some serious faces for a soiree. (Same as above)
- Enjoy the festivities, Stoic Alder.
- Talking to Malice Swordshadow
- Wayfinder. You haven't missed me on the front lines, have you? I was torn about leaving before finishing the fight with those beasts...but you seemed to have things well in hand.
- You were a force against the titans, Malice.
- Felt good to chip a few stones off those beasties, even if they weren't fully like the titans that my people once worshipped. Still, there's no shortage of things to deal with back home...
- I'll let you get back to it, then.
- Always good to see you, Malice[sic]
- Talking to Crecia Stoneglow
- Commander... From champion of an Elder Dragon to destroyer of titans. Is there anything on Tyria you can't take down? Should I even ask?
- I guess I'm just blessed that way.
- Ha! Or cursed... Regardless, you've proven yourself a staunch ally, and all of Tyria owes you a monumental debt. You ever need me, you know where to find me.
- I'm grateful, Crecia. I'll see you around.
- Talking to Efram Greetsglory
- Commander! Or...do you go by Wayfinder now? Well, whichever it is, I am glad to see you again, and I'm unsurprised to see you at the center of events.
- How are things with the legions?
- I'll leave you to it, Efram.
- Talking to Mia Kindleshot
- Evening, Commander. You appear to be in fine form, as always.
- What's the word with Iron Legion, Imperator?
- Finally starting to feel normal again. Smodur had his claws in every facet of the Iron Legion, so it hasn't been easy stepping into those boots. Something tells me that we'll have more good news to come.
- I look forward to hearing more about it.
- Take care of yourself.
- Talking to Dagda
- Good to see you, Wayfinder! I wish I could say I was surprised by this victory, but you and I both know there's nothing that will keep you down.
- It was touch and go there a few times. But we had...help.
- Dagda: I heard you had an enlightening experience in Bava Nisos, Wayfinder. How are you?
- <Character name>: Always the wiser, Dagda. I'm okay. Seeing Mabon was...jolting. If that was even Mabon.
- Dagda: Who can say? The Mists are incomprehensible. It could have been his true spirit—or it could have been a whisper of who he was.
- Dagda: But nonetheless, he was with you in one form or another.
- Dagda: I just wish I was there to experience it, myself... As does Lyhr. What I'd do just to see him.
- Dagda: We're still processing it all. We miss our friend. Lyhr... He may wear a bold face, but he still mourns.
- Dagda: But this is a party! Grab a stein—raise it in the air!
- Dagda: For those we lost.
- I'll see you around, Dagda.
- Talking to Councillor Ludo
- I expect a more thoroughly detailed report on your activities within the week, Commander Wayfinder.
- How are you holding up, Councillor?
- Councillor Ludo: Alive. Exhausted. Ready for the following forums to commence and finish promptly... Though, they never do.
- Councillor Ludo: I'm just keen on returning my attention to Rata Sum and the Arcane Council. I don't like leaving either unwatched.
- <Character name>: Oh, yeah? They giving you a hard time?
- Councillor Ludo: Always. Conflicting personalities. Conflicting goals... (sighs deeply)
- Councillor Ludo: Nothing that I haven't endured before, but ever since the alliance sprung forth, there's been a certain...urgency in the air.
- Councillor Ludo: Everyone is operating on their own interests. As a society obsessed with procedure, we're not prone to skipping a step.
- Councillor Ludo: Or four. I feel like everyone's mother. Making sure they're not hiding their greens in their pockets.
- It's just one or the other. Have a good time, Councillor.
- Talking to Logan Thackeray
- Ah, Commander, I should've figured you'd be at the heart of all this. The Pact would've backed you up, but there's still a lot of rebuilding to do, especially now that our mission is worldwide.
- How have things been going on that front?
- Slowly. The losses we incurred fighting the Elder Dragons hurt our capabilites, and with Elona and Cantha in play, we're spread pretty thin. But the alliance should help us get back on our feet.
- Good luck with that.
- I'll leave you to it, Marshal.
- (If you have talked to Ellen Kiel before, she will be here now, waving in front of Logan Thackeray's face. Then she walks upstairs into a room. After having talked to Logan, he will also walk upstairs, entering the same room after her.)
- Talking to Livia on the top balcony
- Livia: Oh, Commander. I was just... I was just thinking. It's lovely out here, isn't it?
- Livia: Ah... Sorry. I'm not really in the mood for pleasantries. We'll talk again when everything settles down.
- Leaving the party
- Lionguard Lieutenant: Have a nice evening, Commander. Looks like the weather is finally breaking, so enjoy it while it lasts!
- <Character name>: I'll do that.

Trivia[edit]
- Each of the three Tormented souls are effectively a weaker version of a specific Bandit Champion: Judge shares his mechanics with Champion Varre the Underhanded, Tatyanna with Champion Ezal the Quick, and Ulrich with Champion Vic the Iron.
- The hidden achievement "It's the Ursan Way" is a reference to the Guild Wars 1 "Ursanway" team build that used the gw1:Ursan Blessing skill for survivability.
