Aetherlocation Treasures are skimmer-detected chests hidden in the water. Up to 30 chests can be opened per day.

Mechanics[edit]

  • Aetherlocation Treasure chests are found and revealed by using skimmer's skill  Activate Aetherlocation.png Activate Aetherlocation from the Castoran Intuition.png Castoran Intuition mastery.
  • Aetherlocation searches in a sphere.
  • When Aetherlocation has detected a chest, a system prompt will read "Your Skimmer Has Detected Something of Value Nearby" and it will become visible on the mini map and pinged.
  • From the time of detection, several seconds can pass before the corresponding chest renders in the world.
Limitations
  • There is a cap on the number of chests that can be opened per day of 30 per account (detections do not count against this limit). If you somehow locate a 31st chest and attempt to open it, you will receive the error message "You have acquired all of the treasures of this type for today".
  • You can only loot each chest once every 24 hours. After reset you will still need to wait for that time to be up before you can find a previously looted chest on that map again.
It is possible for a chest to spawn in the water under the terrain.
Aetherlocation Treasures collected in Ember Bay count towards Skimming the Seas: Horn & Heart of Maguuma instead of the Ring of Fire equivalent, as the zone is mechanically in the Heart of Maguuma region.
