Unusual Coins are a currency obtained in the most recent expansion — currently the Castora region of Visions of Eternity. Upon the release of a new expansion, all collected Unusual Coins are converted into Ancient Coins.

Trivia

• Prior to the August 22, 2023 game update (Secrets of the Obscure release), Unusual Coin used to be rewarded only for chests and activities in Cantha. Coins acquired there were renamed to Ancient Coin after the update.
• With the August 20, 2024 game update (Janthir Wilds release), all Secrets of the Obscure sources and vendors were updated to use Ancient Coins.
• With the October 28, 2025 game update (Visions of Eternity release), all Janthir Wilds sources and vendors were updated to use Ancient Coins.
