Poised Arrow, nicknamed Poky, is a Lowland Kodan and son of Stoic Alder and the late Silken Weir. He is expected to succeed his father as the next Claw of the Lowland Kodan one day.
Biography[edit]
Early years[edit]
Poised Arrow was raised in Hearth's Glow as a cub and left with his father Stoic Alder when his mother Silken Weir had died during the Elder Dragon Jormag's rise. He is next in line to inherit the title of Claw of Koda in his community and is friends with at least a few kodan in Harvest Den.[1]
Janthir Wilds[edit]
Act 1[edit]
In 1337 AE, Poised Arrow met the Pact Commander, Caithe, and Malice Swordshadow soon after they had arrived in Lowland Shore. He was sitting in on a meeting of the Lowland Kodan Council members when he introduced himself to them. He expressed amusement at the circumstances of the Commander's arrival to Janthir and dubbed them 'Lost-Your-Way-Finder.' Stoic Alder requested that he chaperone the Commander, and he responded with reluctance.
Contrary to his father's wishes, Poised Arrow ultimately declined to chaperone the Commander during their exploration of the village, saying that a Wayfinder needed no assistance. He also expressed his desire to partake in the celebratory dance festival with his friend. At some point, he was given a communication device by Malice, and he summoned the Commander to inform them that their presence was requested by his father.
Act 2[edit]
Godspawn[edit]
Repentance[edit]
After learning that the Tyrian Alliance, the Astral Ward and some other lowland kodan volunteers, who had teamed up to survey the northern isles of Janthir, had reached the outskirts of Bava Nisos, the ancient Mursaat city, Poised Arrow met with the Commander to travel to the outskirts of the city. Poised Arrow insisted they travel by boat, which didn't seem to be the Commander's first choice, but he was very excited about his first real voyage. After a rough journey, of which Poised Arrow spent the first part singing sea shanties, before eventually succumbing to sea sickness and spending the rest of the trip heaving, the duo arrived at the Mistburned Barrens, on the outskirts of the old Mursaat city.
There, Poised Arrow and the Commander met with Isgarren, Anise and Waiting Sorrow and formed a plan of action. Accessing the city was difficult, not least because of the Spectral Agony plaguing the surround area, following a major battle a long time ago between the Seers and the Mursaat. To find out more about the area, the Commander headed north into the valley. When the Commander came back, they informed the group that they had found a strange glowing wisp and wanted to investigate further, but had been unable to follow it into the valley filled with spectral agony. The party gathered again and set out together, Poised Arrow accompanying the Commander, Isgarren and Waiting Sorrow. Poised Arrow and the Commander felt the brunt of the spectral agony curse, not being as resistant to it as the wizards who were with them. As they progressed through the valley, they heard whispers of a voice that seemed familiar to some in the party, although Poised Arrow did not know who that was. After Waiting Sorrow suggested that the Commander use the Heart of the Obscure to help identify the mysterious wisp, the group was ambushed by a swarm of mursaat ghosts! As they fought the ghosts, Poised Arrow and the others witnessed as Isgarren and a mysterious new ghost called Yagon started fighting each other, as Yagon obviously held Isgarren responsible for the death of someone they knew. However, Poised Arrow then noticed the wisp had taken the form of mursaat ghost themselves. However, this particular mursaat seemed to be familiar to the rest of the party: an old wizard called Mabon. As the group watched as a vision of Mabon played out, Poised Arrow saw the impact this revelation was having on his friends, Waiting Sorrow especially. Later, the group decided to return to Anise to discuss next steps.
Absolution[edit]
Despite being vastly out of his depth regarding the matters of the arcane nature, Poised Arrow played a major role during the finale of the titan crisis. Once the theft of the Scepter of Orr became apparent, the lowland kodan found himself in a party trying to contain the emergency caused by Livia. When the Commander arrived on the scene, he stood alongside Countess Anise and arguing members of the Astral Ward — Isgarren, Livia and Waiting Sorrow. Althought they failed to stop Livia from using the Scepter in an attempt to open a pathway to Bava Nisos, they were among the first members of the Tyrian Alliance to enter the city as they pursued the human necromancer. Poised Arrow helped defeat the defending titanspawn and secure Mantle's Arrival for the incoming Tyrian forces. With the situation seemingly under control, he stayed behind with his allies as the Commander separated from the party to investigate an abandoned yet relatively recent White Mantle camp. After another heated argument between Livia and the rest of the allies regarding the Scepter, he voiced his aversion towards such tensions among friends to the Commander.
Poky did not participate in the subsequent push into Bava Nisos. Instead, he returned behind the front lines in Mistburned Barrens with Countess Anise, Isgarren and Waiting Sorrow. Once the Commander joined them, they witnessed the last of Mabon's memories. Seeing how the Mursaat spared the last titan's life, Poised Arrow began to view Mabon as an honorable individual. Soon he was forced to enter the fray again, this time as a part of a reinforcements group that rescued Livia from a titanspawn ambush near the titan's heart. Without much time to rest they were challenged by another force. During the ensuing invasion of shadow creatures from the now-opened Mists Gate, he shielded Anise from a lethal blow and helped his allies hold their ground until the arrival of Mabon.
Once the Commander finished their preparations, the party was able to push into the Foundry of Failed Creations through the Mists Gate. A simple lowland kodan not too long ago, Poised Arrow now found himself in a different realm, visibly taken aback by the reality within the Realm of Torment. The party traversed through the realm in hopes of finding and vanquishing whatever remained of the three White Mantle members: Judge, Tatyanna and Ulrich, as without this Saevus couldn't be truly defeated. Ultimately, they were successful and managed to safely return back to Tyria. Their actions put an end to the titan crisis. Like many of his friends, Poised Arrow was last seen in the Guild Initiative Headquarters in Lion's Arch at a celebratory banquet.

Lowland Shore during Return to Janthir Wilds[edit]
- Initial dialogue
- Hey, you made it! Unsure my letter would reach you, but those Astral Ward folks were confident they could pull it off, and, well... Here you are! (chuckles)
- Anything for the Ambassador of Harvest Den.
- Shucks. It suits me, doesn't it? Hopin' I do Paw...and Maw proud.
- (nods) So, what can I do for you, Poky?
- The local cubs want to hear about your adventures in Janthir, straight from the source—they're bored of my version. (scoffs) Wry Lichen would also like to write it down for his records.
- I'm no bard, but I'll see what I can do.
- (If norn)
- I'm no skald, but let's see how the Spirits move me.
- How's your new job?
- Big! Well, bigger than just shadowing Paw on the den's small council. I'm learning about so many faraway lands and people—even things about their leaders. Humbling, it is.
- Oh? Anything fun?
- Ah, well... You're friends with Queen Jennah, yes? Did you know she had some adventures of her own before she took the throne? Wouldn't have guessed it.
- That's...huh. That's less surprising than you'd think.
- Glad to hear it.
- Let me go pay my respect to the elders, and then we'll chat.
