- Weaponmaster Training: Either complete the third chapter of the Secrets of the Obscure story, Mother of Stars, then speak to Frode, or purchase Weaponmaster Training Document from the Heroics Notary vendor in WvW for 250.
  - Removes elite specialization restriction on weapons
- Expanded Weapon Proficiency: Progress through the fourteenth chapter of the Secrets of the Obscure story chapter, The War Council, to unlock Astral Ward Arsenal. Either find the five artifacts in Inner Nayos, or purchase from the Heroics Notary vendor in WvW for 100 each (total 500).
  - Adds a new weapon for each profession to use.

- Either train and unlock the Lowland Spear Training mastery, or purchase Lowland Spear Unlock from the Heroics Notary vendor in WvW for 500.
  - Allows use of spears on land

Instanced content[edit]

The below content requires players to be in the correct location to join. A popup box will usually appear when a player is in the correct zone when an instance has been created. The easiest and quickest locations are listed.

Dungeons (5-players)[edit]

Each character must complete the story version of a dungeon to unlock its explorable version.

Fractals (5-players)[edit]

Access to Fractals of the Mists required.
- GAscended armor, weapons, and trinkets required for higher tiers to slot Agony Infusions to counter Agony.

Gizmos cover a variety of items that players can use, with some benefiting movement.

	Prototype Position Rewinder		Purchased from Hafren in Sandswept Isles for 175,000 + 75 Difluorite Crystal after completing the renown heart.	Saves one position within the open world zone for 30 seconds with the ability to teleport back to it. Helpful for jumping puzzles.
	White Mantle Portal Device		1. Possible reward obtained by defeating the final boss in the Stronghold of the Faithful raid; or, 2. Purchased from Scholar Glenna (unlocked upon defeating the final boss).	Creates a portal similar to mesmer's Portal Exeunt but on a 30-minute cooldown.
Utility	Ash Legion Spy Kit		Purchased from Kyra Sharptracker for 28 after completing the renown heart in Plains of Ashford.	Self-apply Stealth (10s) to avoid combat.
Utility	Harpy Feathers		Purchased from Forager Hitkiti for 40 after completing the event in Harathi Hinterlands.	Self-apply Stealth (3s) to avoid combat.

Gliding[edit]

Gliding expands the player's ability to travel vertically. The below lists out the methods to unlock gliding account-wide from fastest to slowest:

Mounts[edit]

Unlocking via LWS4 is recommended if planning to train masteries from both paid content. The LWS4 mastery track is required to craft HLegendary Vision, whereas the SotO mastery track grants more mounted combat functions.
