Galeshot
“"I carry the wind."
Archers from the Dominion of the Winds have learned to harness the powerful squall magic of their forests to weave a bow made of pure wind. That bow in hand, the galeshot manipulates the gusts around them to gracefully maneuver the battlefield and carry their arrows.
— In-game description
Galeshot is an elite specialization for the ranger unlocked with the Visions of Eternity expansion.[1]
Galeshots are rangers and the premier archers of Tyria, able to sculpt and command the wind at will with their Cyclone Bow and access to squall skills. The Cyclone Bow increases in strength as its arrows are used, culminating in a powerful coup de grâce to dispatch enemies. Learning from nature, galeshots may choose to chill their projectiles, launch themselves with a whirlwind, or even summon a raging tornado. They are swift and graceful to ensure advantageous positioning in battle.[1]
List of galeshot skills[edit]

“Taught in the ways of tengu marksmanship, the Galeshot uses the power of the wind to generate special arrows that they unleash in a flurry and control the flow of the battlefield with gusty whirlwinds and tornadoes.
Profession mechanic[edit]
- In addition to their two equipped weapon sets, galeshots may access their Cyclone Bow at will through F5. Activating the Cyclone Bow will change to its weapon skills while in use and utilize specific arrow charges that replenish over time.
- Using arrow charges will also accumulate a unique Wind Force buff to convert the auto-attack skill into the Hawkeye skill at 5 stacks.
- The skill bar display will be modified to show both the number of available arrow charges (up to 8) and an arrow recharge meter above the health orb.[2]

Lore[edit]
“For over a hundred years, the tengu of the Dominion of Winds have kept their gates shut and their arrows trained on the outside world. After minions of Primordus and Jormag threatened to siege the dominion’s walls in the last dragonrise, some tengu have emerged to more actively engage in Tyrian affairs and—as a rare honor—offer cultural exchanges at the behest of their royal houses. One such exchange is the honored tradition of the galeshot.
These tengu archers, skilled and oathbound to protect the royal houses, are able to summon the four cardinal winds to form a powerful cyclone bow and deliver swift justice to their foes. As contributing members of the Tyrian Alliance, the tengu now offer tutelage in these skills to willing outsiders who express interest in the galeshot craft.

Trivia[edit]
- In the concept art, the galeshot wears modified versions of the Monastery armor, Woodland Kodan Leather Gloves and Heritage Boots with no head armor.
- Galeshot builds upon the ranger's early-game identity to provide an elite specialization traitline highly focused on the archer fantasy. The use and design of the Cyclone Bow and its skills intend to allow a continuous ranged option.[2]
