Super Adventure Festival[edit]
Moto's world-renowned Super Adventure Box returns again! Explore two worlds (and two test zones) of excitement, peril, and educational entertainment to earn holographic weapons and a variety of loot. Travelers can visit the Super Adventure Box in Rata Sum—temporary portals have been placed in each major city to facilitate easy travel to the scenic hub of asuran culture!
- The World 3 test zone has been expanded! Test Zone 2 is now available for players who have completed the original test zone, which is now labeled Test Zone 1. Delve deeper into the watery caverns and explore ancient ruins! Moto reminds players that the test zones are presented as is for the enjoyment and education of progeny and will be improved upon in later releases.
- Complete the festival's meta-achievement, (Annual) Super Adventure Box Nostalgia, to earn the new Powered Vest armor. Last year's reward, the Powered Boots, is now available from the Super Adventure Box traders.
- The new Forged-Light weapon set is now available, reprised from the retro classic Hardlight weapon set. You'll receive your choice of a weapon by progressing the Super Adventure Box Nostalgia[sic] meta-achievement, and you can earn additional choices through weekly Super Adventure Box achievements.
- The Super Rainbow Cloud weapon set is now available from the weekly Super Adventure Box vendors.
- Everyone's other favorite dragon, Plush Ess, is now available in backpack form from Super Adventure Box vendors.
- New weapons have been added to the Retro-Forged series. You can purchase these weapons directly from a festival vendor or find them as a rare drop in Super Loot Bags.
- New Super Adventure Box-themed guild decorations have been added. Turn your hall into the mountainous riverside getaway of your dreams.
- Super Adventure Box music can now be unlocked for your homestead. Your first completion of each zone will have a chance to drop a soundtrack single featuring music from Super Adventure Box. These records can also be purchased from festival vendors or traded with other players.
- Special objectives are available in the Wizard's Vault to earn extra astral acclaim as you enjoy the festival.
- A number of Super Adventure Box-related bugs have been fixed to ensure a safe education for all heroes.
- Festivities begin on April 14 and continue until May 5 at noon Pacific Time (UTC-7).
General[edit]
In the last several expansions, creatures have been given additional health to account for increased player damage. With the balance changes in this update, we are reducing the health of most enemies in the Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons, Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure, Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds, and Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity expansions. In addition, we're making more significant adjustments to the bosses in the Silent Surf, Lonely Tower, and Kinfall fractals. We will be monitoring the effects of the balance changes and will make further adjustments if needed.
- Updated the text in Wizard's Vault container previews to avoid covering the button used to close the window.
- Fixed an issue that blocked Gourmet Training progress for chefs when varietal seeds had been previously acquired on their account.
- Fixed an issue that could rarely cause players to only receive 3 daily Wizard's Vault objectives in addition to the log-in objective.
- Updated the text in the first-time pop-up for Fashion Templates to better reflect current system functionality.
Open World[edit]
General[edit]
- Reduced the enemy difficulty and decreased the speed of Inquest success in "Defeat the Inquest to prevent them from capturing the Ley-Energy Coalescence" events.
Dungeons[edit]
- Updated the corrosive light globe puzzles in the Ruined City of Arah dungeon to allow players to throw corrosive light directly into the globe.
Raids[edit]
- A new vendor has been added to the Lion's Arch Aerodrome that contains rewards from raid encounters that were previously only accessible in raid encounter hubs. This vendor includes an option to convert Blue Prophet Crystals to Magnetite Shards.
- Salvaging ascended rewards from raid encounters can now yield Magnetite Shards, bringing the results in line with those from raid wing rewards.
- Removed the encounter timer from Greer, the Blightbringer in the Mount Balrior raid encounter's normal mode and challenge mode. We will continue to monitor the encounter following the balance adjustment.
- Timers for the Down and Out achievements have been increased.
World vs. World[edit]
- Waypoints were previously changed to always activate at objective upgrade tier 0 in keeps captured by the home team. They will now activate at objective upgrade tier 0 in keeps captured by their spawn team. The Alpine Borderlands and Desert Borderlands garrisons are considered the spawn keeps for the home team on those maps.
- Keep and castle objectives will now stay contested while any inner gates and walls are destroyed.
Player vs. Player[edit]
- Push has been added to the monthly variety tournament rotation. The first Push tournament will occur on May 9.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the Lock Skills setting in custom arenas from properly locking all skills.

Balance Update Preview - April 14, 2026[edit]
Greetings, Tyrians!
Welcome to the preview for the April 14 balance update. Over the past few expansions, player damage in PvE has slowly increased as we adjusted builds to be competitive with newer features. Our objective for this update is to reduce the overall damage done by players in PvE while keeping builds at a comparable power level to one another. The goal of these reductions is to bring player damage to a place that better matches the expectations and preserves the mechanical integrity of our older open-world and instanced encounters. As such, this update is largely focused on number tuning with minimal functional changes. Players can expect around a 10–15% damage reduction in most damage-oriented builds. We do not expect these changes to have a noticeable impact on casual PvE gameplay and players will be able to continue playing the builds they enjoy. We'll keep a close eye on how these changes impact some of the most challenging PvE encounters and follow up with adjustments to those if necessary.
As always, the goal of previewing these changes is to gather your feedback before the live release. We'll be following the conversation and making further adjustments as needed.

Outside of the PvE-focused reductions all professions are seeing, elementalist is receiving a couple of functionality changes. Crashing Font is being changed to always heal the user, with a healing increase upon striking a foe instead of all or nothing. This increases the consistency of hammer's healing while still rewarding offensive use. Stone Heart is being reworked to now provide a large damage reduction instead of critical-strike immunity. This change gives the trait more relevancy in PvE builds that benefit from a defensive trait while also giving us better control over the effectiveness of the trait in competitive modes.
Pyromancer's Training: Reduced the strike damage bonus from 10% to 7% in PvE only.
Stormsoul: Reduced the strike damage bonus from 10% to 7% in PvE only.
Piercing Shards: Reduced the strike damage bonus from 10% to 7% in PvE only.
Inferno: Reduced the power scaling from 10% to 7.5% in PvE only.
Raging Ricochet: This skill no longer grants a bonus to outgoing condition damage when consuming a fire bullet and instead grants might to the user when consuming a fire bullet.
Hurricane of Pain: Reduced the power coefficient per strike from 0.69 to 0.55 in PvE only.

Engineer[edit]
Engineer's PvE changes are targeted at reducing the effectiveness of condition damage from core weapon and utility skills. In competitive modes, Explosive Entrance damage will be reduced, while Corona Burst's damage profile is being shifted. Currently, some engineer builds can rely too heavily on Explosive Entrance to deal damage, and it can be hard to mitigate and feel uninteractive. By lowering Explosive Entrance and making small adjustments to some weapons, we hope to encourage other playstyles for engineer, and we'll be monitoring the need for further adjustments.
Corona Burst is another important damage-dealing skill for holosmith, and due to the skill delivering two strikes, it can also feel hard to mitigate. In competitive modes, we're back-loading the damage so that the second strike will be more important to react to. This allows enemies to have clearer windows of damage mitigation, but it also gives holosmith players stronger moments to deal burst damage.
Glass Cannon: Reduced the damage increase from 10% to 7% in PvE only.
Conduit Surge: Reduced the burning stacks from 2 to 1, increased the focused burning duration from 6 seconds to 7 seconds, and increased the unfocused burning duration from 4 seconds to 5 seconds in PvE only.
Electric Artillery: Reduced the minimum burning duration from 4 seconds to 3 seconds, reduced the focused burning duration scaling from 1 second to 0.5 seconds, and reduced the unfocused burning duration scaling from 0.5 seconds to 0.25 seconds in PvE only.
Blowtorch: Reduced the maximum burning duration from 6 seconds to 4.5 seconds in PvE only.
Radiant Arc: Increased the power coefficient from 1.5 to 1.65 in PvP and WvW.
Rocket Charge: Reduced the cooldown from 18 seconds to 16 seconds in PvP and WvW.
Shock Shield: Reduced the cooldown from 18 seconds to 16 seconds in PvP and WvW.

Guardian[edit]
Outside of the global damage reduction changes, guardian's adjustments are focused on the luminary elite specialization. Luminary has been performing exceptionally in all game modes—a bit too exceptionally. In PvE, many of luminary's healing abilities are seeing reductions to their base values along with increases to their healing power scaling. This is targeted to reduce the healing output from damage-oriented luminaries while affecting healing-oriented luminaries less. In competitive modes, many of luminary's cooldowns are being increased. This will encourage more thoughtful use of their skills and increase the window of time in which they can be punished for improper cooldown management.
Whirling Wrath: Reduced the power coefficient of strikes from 0.45 to 0.35 in PvE only. Reduced the power coefficient of projectiles from 0.375 to 0.275 in PvE only.
Helio Rush: Reduced the power coefficient from 1.8 to 1.5 in PvE only.
True Shot: Reduced the power coefficient from 3.2 to 2.8 in PvE only.

Mesmer[edit]
Mesmer is seeing similar skill and trait reductions to other professions, and one we'd like to expound on is Mirror Blade. Mirror Blade bounces in a unique way compared to similar skills like Winds of Chaos. After the first hit, Mirror Blade can subsequently bounce to either enemies or allies as determined by proximity and some prioritizations, such as to players and enemies. We like the way Mirror Blade currently functions, and we believe it's important that its functionality remains as is for competitive modes. However, we also recognize that this functionality makes it hard to expect a consistent output from the skill in PvE. By both increasing the base power coefficient and damage reduction per bounce, the damage will become front-loaded and more predictable in PvE.
In competitive modes, we've seen the usage of the domination specialization fall off after the Power Block rework. We're adjusting it and greatsword to increase their synergy with one another and encourage using both. Troubadour is a powerful force in WvW recently, so it's receiving cooldown increases to lower its overall output.

Chaotic Persistence: Reduced the expertise granted from 250 to 100 in PvE only.
Mind Stab: This skill now deals increased damage against vulnerable foes.
Illusionary Wave: Reduced the cooldown from 25 seconds to 20 seconds. This skill now inflicts vulnerability.
Dazzling: This trait now triggers on any disable instead of just dazes and stuns.
Power Block: Increased the damage increase from 10% to 15% in PvP and WvW.
Chronomancer[edit]
Danger Time: Reduced the damage increase from 10% to 5% in PvE only.

Necromancer[edit]
Much like luminary, the base healing of ritualist's healing skills are being reduced while their healing power coefficients are being increased. This is to reduce the healing output of damage-oriented ritualists while affecting healing-oriented ritualists less. Necromancers have been performing very well in WvW after the spite specialization's adjustments. Ritualists in particular have proved to be strong, so they're receiving adjustments to lower their spike damage. Weakening Shroud is being decoupled from Enfeebling Blood so that it can regain its old functionality of corrupting a boon. Reaper will get access to better damage mitigation tools as Cold Shoulder regains some old functionality as well, and Infusing Terror no longer has to sacrifice its damage reduction to be reactivated.

Ranger[edit]
Outside of PvE reductions, ranger's updates will reduce its effectiveness in large-scale WvW. Both druid and untamed have been dominant forces recently, and while we are happy to see ranger's use in these settings, it has proven to be a bit stifling. Druid's strongest tool, Spirit of Nature, will have its number of targets reduced, and untamed is getting some of its damage modifiers reduced. Additionally, we're increasing the cooldown for swapping defeated pets to see if we can find a happy medium for it.
Predator's Onslaught: Reduced the damage increase from 15% to 10% in PvE only.
Hunter's Tactics: Reduced the damage increase from 15% to 10% in PvE only.
Hidden Barbs: Reduced the bleeding damage increase from 33% to 20% in PvE only.

Along with some PvE damage reductions, revenant is receiving some small adjustments in competitive modes. In WvW, we've seen revenant getting used less than other damage options. We don't believe it to be too far off, and so Brutality and hammer damage are being increased to make them more appealing options. In PvP, vindicator's Legendary Alliance Stance is getting some attention so that it can hopefully see more usage.
